No map displayed on Strava when activity synced from Garmin Connect App - Fenix 6

Hello,

I have searched for the answer to this issue, but I have not been able to find a solution. Any insight or help would be very appreciated.

For the past 3-4 years I have been using my phone to track my outdoor rides, runs, swims, etc using Strava for the GPS track and it has worked brilliantly.

I recently purchase a Fenix 6(really enjoying it) to start tracking my workouts, and was excited to know that I could sync the activities recorded on my watch to Strava. The issue I am experiencing is that when the Garmin Connect App syncs the activity to Strava, it does not upload or display a map of the activity on Strava. The map of the route is displayed in the Garmin Connect App. Please see the attached photos of a test activity I did. The first two images are of the test with the watch only. The last two images are just random activities pulled from my phone where i was using Strava only - showing the map.

Does anyone know why a map of the activity is not displayed and if there is a fix for this? Thank you for your help!

I had to reset my Edge a few times and didn't notice I had set my Activity Profile to indoor.

Switched it back to Training and had maps again.

Can’t find the indoor tag

Check your privacy zone. I have mine set for 1/2 mile and for most part the activities without maps are primarily within that zone. So most of my quick 3 miles rides with my son around the park are hidden…

Same problem with Edge 1000 - map used to be shown in activities but stopped displaying a few months ago

Did you link both accounts, and enabled them on both sides? On GC you have to go to https://connect.garmin.com/modern/settings/accountInformation and enable Strava in the section Applications at the bottom of the page.

On the Strava website, visit strava.com/upload/device and find the Garmin option to authorize a link to Strava.

Did you ever figure this out? Same thing is happening to me with a fenix 6x (sw ver 8.10)

For Strava maps:

1. Log into your Strava account via www.strava.com and view the activity page that you wish to edit.
2. Click the Pencil icon on the left-hand side of the activity page.
3. Click on “indoor” tag and the click onto a empty space on this page to confirm that the tag changes color from gray to white.
4. Click “Save” one you are done. You should then see maps for any activity that was recorded with GPS data.

Correct. Map only shows when tagged - Top answer which resolved my issue.
