If you mean "wildly incorrect wrist HR" during training such as dynamic cardio/bootcamp/HIIT style training, then this is common with a lot of wrist based HR monitors. You will need a chest strap. At least you have the option to wear various chest straps for this type of activity with Garmin.
I found a way! You go in your training status page and press on the "Unknown" next to the white triangle (see picture) and then select your device! Everything recent should appear. The downside is that the data you had with your old device won't be merged with the new data.
