Update Bluetooth Connection in Connect Mobile for Android

Starting with the 3.11 release of Garmin Connect Mobile for Android, we have introduced an option to update the Bluetooth connection from within the Connect Mobile application to use the native Android Bluetooth system pairing. For instructions on updating please see the link listed here.

Please feel free to leave feedback in this thread.
  • I have something to try in case some of you are having trouble with the Bluetooth disconnecting from speakers, headphones, every 7 minutes or so. My problem has started in May and I found it to be the Connect application after uninstalling, reinstalling it. Obviously I want to use it so...

Go to 'Settings', 'Apps', 'Connect', 'Permissions', and enable everything.

For some reason that solved the issues with mine. Have no idea why, have no idea if it will help you, but it's worth a shot cause that was annoying as heck.
  • I've done it and nothing, there's no way for my fenix 5X to connect to the phone.
It seems a real shame that after more than a month with this problem, they are not able to do anything ...
  • I talked to Bq. They told me they trying to solv the problem.

Until then, they told me that garmin connect mobile 3.20.3 works.

I've tryed it, and it really works without any problem.

It connects the fenix 5x when you get out of range and return again (the latest version of garmin connect mobile never connected again until you pair and unpair the watch from the phone)

It even connects the watch without internet, but obviously just the calls and SMS (good when you travel and don't want to use mobile data to reconnect the watch and the phone...)

Here is the link to download garmin connect mobile 3.20.3:

I got it, it gave me a lot of headaches, but I got it
Installed the 3.20.3 and everything has returned to normal, so it is clear that the failure is the new version of Connect

    Thanks!!!

I think I already ask this in a different thread: How did you manage do connect the watch to 3.20.3? Whenever I tried this, the old version immediately asks to upgrade to the latest version, and reject to connect to any device.

It seems to work now. Most important thing seems to be to remove the watch from bluetooth settings before doing the downgrade, and then connect the watch during the first launch of the old version.

Does anybody have the problem that Bluetooth seems to lose connection for no apparent reason?
  • I sometimes lose it but it returns on its own after a few seconds.
  • Yep my watch loses it's BT connection to my phone. Wasn't an issue previously. Using a 645m on firmware 3.3 and Samsung G7 on GCM v4.7.

Vivoactive 3 and Nokia 5. Disconnect just 10 minutes after closing Garmin connect. Cannot use 3.20.3 for vivoactive3.

Things seem to be working better after I restarted my phone.
