Vivoactive HR / Android App not reading sleep data

As above, plus heart rate graph is not showing on phone, although RHR and MHR numbers are visible .

I've removed and reloaded app, but no joy. Is anyone else experiencing similar problems?

TIA

I am having the same issue. No sync of sleep, heart rate, steps only partially. Garmin Express with usb works, the Garmin Connect Android app does not. Steps are ok in the main screen, not when looking up details.

Ok, here is what I learned from Garmin support yesterday to solve this issue:
    1. synchronize your watch with Garmin Express over usb to save your data.
    2. remove your watch from the Garmin Connect app
    3. Remove your watch from the bluetooth devices on your phone ("forget")
    4. Restore defaults on your watch (Settings -> System -> Restore Defaults)
    5. Remove the cache of the Garmin Connect app on your phone (Settings -> Apps & notifications -> Connect app -> tap Storage and choose "Clear cache"
    6. Complete the setup on your watch without using Garmin Connect
    7. When finished, pair your watch to your phone

All is synchronizing fine now for me.

When I did step 4 to restore the defaults on the watch, it bricked...Guess I will call in to tech.

Was able to get it back by doing a hard reset until it turned off. Then briefly hook it up to USB to wake it up, remove from USB and continue with set up. When I did the hard reset and turned it back on before trying to wake it up with USB, it stayed bricked.

Seems to be working. Thanks for posting the steps!

Having the same issues, Vivoactive HR, Samsung S9, Lots of complaints on Google Play about this, No sync of sleep or heart rate, some steps lost. The suggestion above looks risky. lets have a real fix, seems to be an App issue.
  • I had the same feedback from support as Kristian. I tried it and the first couple of times the synchronization problem seemed to be fixed. After one day however the problem is now back. I'm letting support now that it didn't solve the problem.

Having the same problem on iOS. If I restore to defaults, do I lose all my app screens I've set up, and my watch face, etc? It would take a while to get that all set up again.
  • The Garmin-support wasn't being very helpful. I had to reset the watch to factory settings to get it back to work (that was days before the Garmin Connect update). The issue is thus not really resolved and I expect it to come back at regular intervals.
When restoring to defaults you lose everything.
