Garmin Pay works almost nowhere outside the US. Almost no banks support it. It's a joke.

Actually, in Europe I use Garmin Pay with the Revolut card. It is prepaid, but that is great safety. And the touch and pay wireless POS devices don’t need to specifically support Garmin pay. As long as they support contactless payment, indicated by the WiFi like symbol, Garmin Pay will work. Always and without fail has for me in a number of countries and stores.
Interesting, there seems to be a lot of variation in how banks implement Garmin Pay. My bank (in the Netherlands) supports it via a kind of 'symbolic credit card' that is linked to my bank balance (all accounts including savings). You can't set a limit on what you spend with Garmin Pay. Unlikely as it may seem, it scares me that someone could rip my watch from my wrist, quickly slap it on their own, and as long as the thing detects a heartbeat, they'll be able to go fun shopping for the rest of the day on my account, without a PIN code and without a limit.
To add safety, I considered opening a separate account at another bank for Garmin Pay only. I'd like to be able to use Garmin Pay, as many shops support it. On the other hand it is not too much bother to take a bank card along. At least you can set the limit for PIN-code-less transactions on that.
