LiveTrack, & GroupTrack Issues

My wife and I have been having problems with LiveTrack "blue screen" when viewing map linked through email request, viewing each other with group track is non-functional on both edge 1000's and having to manually stop live track within GCM Android. We get email notifications from each other when live track starts, but map is blue screen “off the coast of Africa”.
We both have Edge 1000’s and Samsung 7s with all updates. We have checked settings on all devises and started LiveTrack as per Garmin’s instructions. Have tried factory resting both Edge 1000's and removing and reinstalling GCM, all with no change in conditions.
Has been going on for a couple of weeks.
  • I got 4.8 to work on my wife Note 5. Now its not working anymore. I am going to try to install 4.7 for this weekend.

Next week I am using Note 9. Who knows if the Garmin Connect will work at all.

4.9.4 is done on Aug 3.

  • Im having same issue with blue screen on on edge and to garmin watches.. switched to 4.8 am it seems to be working
  • I just called and spoke with Garmin again. They said they still don't have an ETA, and are working on finding the problem.
She suggested that by zooming out of the "blue screen" and then into the general area would work. I swear I tried this in the past w/o any luck.
But I tried it again.... didn't work, but after I hit the refresh button on my browser (chrome), it correctly showed location.
Then I opened the link on my phone - and it immediately went to the right location, and tracked correctly.

    This is on 4.9.4.
    I had tried 4.8 w/o any luck.

Not perfect... but this might be a workaround to try.

I tried this with a Fenix 5 and it seemed to work. I used my phone to access the LiveTrack link via Chrome, which gave me the blue ocean screen. I zoomed all the way out and then back in to my known location and it was correctly plotting my test.

I'm having this same issue too. It is a very important part of my riding. I had a very nasty accident in October last year and as part of my 'permission' to start riding again from my Mrs is that I doing live tracking on all my rides so she can see where I am and some of my data. It was working a couple of months ago (intermittently), but the last few months it starts fine, as tells me that it is doing live tracking when I start my ride, and sends the email, but the email link, as others have stated, is just a blue screen..... Help!!! is there anything that is going to get this working again. We are both using Samsung mobiles, but it give that same result on the Laptop too.

    Hi all.
Same for me. Garmin caused this with an update, as a customer why should we be trying workarounds.
Garmin need to fix. Not happy :(:(:(

    That's the point!
That's the reason why I bet on Garmin, because of it's LiveTrack feature.
I ride alone most of times so it's important for my wife and my family in case I'm not turning back becase I've had any problem.
Now I'm using the WhatsApp realitme position feature but that's not the solution after spending 600€ in a Garmin Edge 1000.

    FIX IT GARMIN, FIX IT!!!

For those following this thread... I was just checking in on this and about to downgrade to v4.8 (which some have suggested doesn't have these issues). Going to apk mirror to look for 4.8, I noticed v4.10 was available there with with 8/23 update date. As of now, 4.10 was NOT showing up in the Google Play store yet for me, but I installed from apk mirror and so far so good. Manual Live track started fine and I'm about to test out the auto start.

Edit: Confirmed Autostart just worked on my run. and I did not have to open the GCM app before starting the run.

That said, for those who know how to side load apps from sources other than Google Play, proceed at your own risk!
  • It works! Installed 4.10 and as greenawayj says, starts automatically and shows the map properly (on strava beacon anyway, haven't checked gmc)

I think the version number showing in the play store may be a quirk. I had 4.8 installed, and play store was showing 4.9 available. I installed this thinking 4.10 might appear, but when I checked it was actually 4.10 that had been installed. Possibly some kimd of caching error?
  • Livetrack is working now?

No more of this dreadful message??? : LiveTrack: Cannot send invites at this time. Try again later.
