Is Garmin actively working towards a solution for Huawei phone users? Have there been any updates on this issue? I bought a Vivoactive 3 and while it is a great smartwach for running, it is mostly useless if I cannot reliably pair it or use it with my phone. Is there an ETA or some news regarding when this problem will be fixed or should I return it and buy something else?
To my surprise, my VA3 firmware 1.90 had no issues with BT pairing to my Mate 10 (stock ROM Dec. 2017). But the notifications are not coming in properly, because EMUI kills every and each process in RAM and prevents restarting. No issues with IOS 11.2, Moto Z (Android 7), HTC (Android 8). Reconnection seems to work fine since GCM Android app 4.2
You think the the solution is inside the Huawei firmware? Yesterday I pair my p8 lite 2017 stopping the update on Google play service but this morming the pairing does not exist and I had redo the procedure. It's not possible using GCM with this triks!
I can´t pair HUWEI P8 LITE with FENIX 5X. I have the newest garmin connect mobile version installed. Location service has to be ON, otherwise garmin app will not allow the select the PAIRING Menu ;(
What is the current progress on this issue? When can we expect an update or fix ETA? if this issue is genuinely with Huawei phones what can we do to get an update and or further complain to get some focus? My phone a Huawei p10 lite is only a few months old. My VivoSmart HR works after a phone reboot for a little while, but my VivoSmart 3 Christmas present just doesn't work! Having searched the internet and tried every suggestion, but no success. If this issue isn't resolved soon I'll be looking to return the VivoSmart as fault, as I doesn't work as advertised, and buying a fitbit or polar!
I totally agree! My VivoSmart 3 won't connect to my phone and I'm sick and tired of it. My phone is not a Huawei, but a Ulefone Power 2. I've only had this Garmin device for two days and have spent hours trying to figure out how to solve the pairing problem. It's very very frustrating and a waste of time.
Is there any news on the Huawei update? Is there a place where we can ask huawei when are they fixing the issue with Garmin Connect? Is Garmin continually requesting when the patch will go live?
I got a systemupdate on my Huawei P8 lite 2017 today. It went to version PRA-LX1C432B192. Syncing with my garmin vivasport HR+ works like a charm now...
So did I. Worked fine few minutes, but when I went to othet room and Garmin lost BT connection to mobile, then connect did not ever teturn. Still same problem. Sad.
I'm seeing this with a P10 lite that's in the family, but not with my own Mate 9 Pro or a P10. It seems to be certain models, P9/10 lite a and a few others, but not all Huaweis. Curiously, also seeing similar issues with watches from other brands. Fitbit and Withings/Nokia show similar behaviour with the P9/P10 lite. So, this is is not a Garmin issue, but rather Huaweis.
