Huawei phones not working with Garmin Connect

Is Garmin actively working towards a solution for Huawei phone users? Have there been any updates on this issue? I bought a Vivoactive 3 and while it is a great smartwach for running, it is mostly useless if I cannot reliably pair it or use it with my phone. Is there an ETA or some news regarding when this problem will be fixed or should I return it and buy something else?
  • Nice generalization about Hauwei phones. I have no issues with my Huawei P8 - what model are you having issues with.

  • Ask the question of Garmin Support. There're are several posts about the P9. Might also be worth asking Huawei why there is a problem. Could well be their end.

I am also experiencing the same issue with a Huawei P9 lite
  • I have a Huawei p10 lite and fenix 3, can't pair through connect, hit and miss through android itself. It's probably the same issue.

Garmin have acknowledged via Twitter there is an issue, that they are hoping to find a fix 'soon'.

As to which device is at fault, not sure. Not had any issues pairing anything else with the phone. But equally not had problems pairing the fenix with anything else either.

    Hello.
I update my Fr 235 to 7.51 but it's still the same.
The Garmin Connect Mobile sync only once, then no longer sync
The Bluetooth system of the mobile phone detects the watch but the Connect Mobile app does not find the watch, and does not pair.
Sometimes the watch indicates a pin code for the Bluetooth connection but the system of the mobile phone indicates that pin is incorrect and not pair.
It does not seem to be a watch or mobile problem, but a Connect Mobile problem.
    A bit disappointed.
My phone is a Huawei P8 Lite, android 6.
  • I ve got the latest updateversions to my Honor 8 lite. FR 735 XT is pairing after some tries well. But it doe not help, because Garmin Connect does connect with my phone. Funny, WTF.

Big company is just siting on their hands.
I suppose, my next pulsemeasuringsystem is NOT coming from Garmin.
  • Support has contacted me via Facebook and twitter, but they don't have an ETA to fix this issue. =(
  • Same problem.

    SOLUTION:

The solution for me is always toremove updates for Google Play Services.

That will get my Forerunner 235 syncing with my Huawei P10 Lite again. However, then I get sign-in problems with the Play Store, which I eventually can resolve.

But the syncing problem will return at a later date most likely!

I have created a thread for this, that hopefully Garmin will notice.

Same problem for me. Have Fenix 3 HR and P9 Lite. It used to work just fine, but then started to have problems. I unpaired them and had so much trouble paring again... Finally was able to pair them but Cant get it to sync in Garmin Connect. It begins process and disconnects after 3 seconds.
  • I have the same bluetooth pairing problem between a Honor 6X and a fenix 3.
When I search for fenix 3 on the app, I wait a bit and enable pairing on my watch, the app detects my watch and displays a mesage "would you like to pair with the fenix 3 ?"

I tap on ok and then there are infinite timeouts.
