issue pairing bluetooth huawei p8lite 2017 and garmin fenix 5x

After last garmin connect mobile updates I had connectivity issues. I have reinstalled garmin connect and now I can not pair my fenix 5x to the huawei p8 lite 2017 smartphone. During pairing phase, codes are continuously generated without completing the connection. On google store play reviews, many users complain about this issue with huawei smartphones after the latest garmin connect updates.
I PURCHASED HUAWEI P8 LITE AFTER HAVE VERIFIED COMPATIBILITY WITH FENIX 5X ON THE GARMIN WEBSITE !!!
  • I've been experiencing the same issue with Huawei P10 lite and VivoSmart 3. An update came in the meantime for both the fitness band and the Android app, but I still see the same issues. I can't manage cu pair my Garmin device. Very annoying.

This happened to mine, replacing it solved the problem. Try returning?
  • I've tried with my girlfriend's VivoSmart 3, since she has the same exact fitness band and I was unable to connect it, exactly the same way I was unable to connect mine. It doesn't seem to be a hardware issue. And also, it's surely not the phone itself, since I'm able to pair the band to other phones like Samsung or iPhone.

Similar problem, my P9 is not able to pair with my Fenix3, it did not happen with just one update, but it slowly stopped working over a couple of updates. The last thing i was Abel to se on the phone was steps, they where almost online.:(
  • Same issue. I've got a huaweiP9 + fenix 3 and it does't work well......one week ago ,there weren't any problem , working together.....pls garmin give me a solution.
  • @Garmin: Huawei is one of the most commonly used phone today. How can a company with this size and staff overlook something like this? This should represent one of your top priorities, together with Apple and Samsung.
  • I have the same problem with my Huawei P10 Lite and my Forerunner 235.
It was working fine with my previous phone (Moto G5 Android 7.1) but since i have my new phone, unpossible to pairring the watch and the phone...

    Wath is the solution ?
  • Hi all,

OK so I have an Honor 6x which is made my the sister company of Huawei. I've found it impossible to pair my vivosmart hr+ and to get a stable connection with my Edge 520. To cut a very long story short I stumbled across this post which allowed me to get my vivosmart to pair with my phone:

    https://forums.garmin.com/forum/on-the-trail/wrist-worn/fenix-3/1271446-unable-to-pair-fenix-3-with-android-7-0-phone

However, I found that the connection was so unstable that it would break after 20 mins or so, sending me back to square one. After some random mucking around I noticed that if I paired and then made sure location services was permanently disabled, my phone and vivosmart got along just fine.

All that to say, for my Huawei phone, it's location services that destroys my Ble connection.

I thought I should post in case this turns out to be the case foe you too.

    BW,

    Joe

    ?????
  • P. S. To be clear, I had to completely disable location services on my phone (if any app, such as my camera, turns it on again the virosmart to phone connection dies within 30sec)
