Garmin Connect Mobile 3.13.0.1 update - notifications don't go away

The android app updated today. I noticed something changed in the sms and call permissons and in the access to notifications in the definitions of my phone.
Now after I get a notification it doesn't go away on my edge 520 after I read or even delete the sms on the phone. I was stuck with 15 notifications I already read and deleted. Going back to version 3.12.0.1 solved it.

Can anyone else reproduce this bug?

I am trying to get your case sent off to our mobile team so we can see why those notifications are not disappearing from the device even when they have been read or cleared from the phone. We just need a little bit more information so that we can get that case going.

    Open the app menu
Android - Touch the Menu icon (3 horizontal lines in upper left corner)
iOS – Touch the More icon (bottom right)
    Select Settings
    Select App Diagnostics
Press the Share icon located at the top right of the screen, opening a windows that will allow you to e-mail the diagnostics
send those diagnostics to us so we can add them to the case.
Then what If you could would you be able to take a screen shot from your phone notifications page showing no messages and then also a screenshot of your device showing all the notifications that have not been dismissed.

If you have any further questions feel free to add them to your response to this email or contact us at 1-800-800-1020 (available Monday through Thursday 8:00am to 6:00pm CST, Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm CST). Thank you for being a Garmin customer and have a great day!

    Thank you for choosing Garmin,

Same problem on the Vivoactive, only way I have found to clear them, is to go into Garmin Connect -> Settings -> Smart Notifications and toggle Text Messages off then On again. Hope they can release a fix for this soon!

    Hi,

Same issue on the Vivosmart HR, getting notifications for text message twice, and after reading it on the phone, still one notification appearing on the Vivosmart :-(
  • Until it gets fixed, it's easy to do as was mentioned in post #3 of this thread and install the previous version. Then just keep an eye on the Play Store to see if they have fixed it or not. Update from the Play Store when they fix it in the next version. The previous version (3.12.0.1) works normally until then.

    Vivosmart HR

Also getting double text notifications, stock Galaxy S4 messaging app.

Facebook messages come thru once with option to read/dismiss.

Text messages come thru twice; one with option to read/dismiss and the other only option to read.

Cannot delete without toggling on/off text message notification in Garmin Mobile Connect app.

EDIT: Downgraded as per the above posts; issue SOLVED. (DOWNLOADED THE WRONG ONE, ORIGINALLY. Now I installed the older APK and the issue is corrected, both for stock messaging and for Textra, which I prefer to use.)

Make sure you don't let it update again. Once you downgraded.

Perhaps just too much eggnog - I believe I downloaded the most current APK prior to my original post. After I went back and looked carefully, I downloaded the older one and it solved the issue!

Apologies for the misinformation and my original post was edited.

Thank you for your help in solving (at least temporarily) a VERY frustrating issue.

We appreciate the discussion on this topic, and apologize for the delay in our response. This is an issue that we are working to address in the next update to Garmin Connect Mobile. This is currently caused by a permissions setting for GCM. If you are experiencing this issue go to phone settings>applications or app manager> Connect Mobile> Permissions and uncheck 'SMS'. This is a workaround until the update to GCM comes out to fix this issue.

    Last versions are bugged.

I had to uninstall and turn back to 3.11, a November release. The latest version with the new GCM notifications is bugged on my S4 4.3 Samsung stock rom. Unable to receive calls and sms notifications. Crash at boot and even if I active the double notification sistem requested by Connect app, it still request the authorization.
I will not update for a long time.

Older android versions don't allow permissions uncheck. In those cases GCM downgrade is the only option
