No text Smart Notifications

Hi,
since the update today I don´t get proper smart notifications on my Fenix 3. Before the update it gave me a preview of the message, now it just says the senders name and "1 new message" (in german "1 neue Nachricht")
How to fix this?

Another issue: After every update the inactivity alarm gets re-enabled...

    Still having issues

    Has anyone talked to Garmin about this? This makes my watch useless outside of my workouts.

    Same here with Garmin Vivoactive HR using latest version of Garmin Connect on hTC 10

    Apparently my friend using Forerunner 235 with same setup also have the problem.

    Really? If the second message appears, everything works fine again. The sender and the text is shown like before.
    It refers only on the very first message.

    The current habit is not great but does not make the watch useless...

    +1 here as well. All texts simply display as "1". A couple of quick things to add:

    1) This started happening out of nowhere (last week?), so some update must have caused it.
    2) It only happens on text messages -- other notifications (i.e. Gmail) are fine.
    3) Happening on both my Fenix 3 and 920XT.
    4) I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Android 6.0.1

    Any help is appreciated & thanks!

  • Garmin Support isn´t helpful

    Just a quick rant how Garmin Support is ignoring the (minor) problem.
    I contacted the (German) Garmin Support and the first response was a generic mail explaining the rights the apps needs to work. I wrote back to them, explaining the issue again (and complaining that they should at least pretend to read the mail). Then they suggested to uninstall and install the app again (deleting app data/cache and so on). This didn´t help, I wrote them again and didn´t get an answer since...
  • Same issue here on Forerunner 235. It's driving me crazy and while the watch still "works" it makes it a lot less useful. I sent an email to Garmin, waiting on the response, hopefully this will be addressed as it completely defeats the purpose of this being a "smart watch."

    I'm not seeing that for SMS message notifications on my Forerunner‑235 (running firmware v5.40), when connected to my Samsung Galaxy Tab S (running Android‑6.0.1 and Garmin Connect Mobile 3.11.1).

    If one unread SMS message has been received from a particular sender, then the text of the message is displayed in the notification, beneath the name of the sender. If more than one unread SMS message has been received from a particular sender, then “‹n› new messages” is displayed in the notification, beneath the name of the sender.

    I'm glad to see it's not watch/phone dependent.

    Same Issue

    Same issue here.

    I contacted Garmin support and after the basic troubleshooting, they just told me to send the watch in for repair. After reading a couple of these threads, I agree it is probably a s/w thing not a watch issue.

    Update: Thanks to the thread I did find that I can click the start/stop button and it will display the message, after the initial notification only displays "1". I pointed Garmin Support to this thread as well...

    I am using Verizon Message+.

    Garmin support just asked for me to send in "the Garmin folder" from my device and exact phone and android build, so they can create a research case. Hopefully that will help.

    I tried the default "Messages" yellow icon App and it just displays "new message", it won't even let me click the start/stop button to read it. Back to Message+
