I also get these symptoms.

I mostly use WhatsApp for messaging. For the popup, I get the sender's name and "1 new message".

If I view the notification (by pressing the activity start button) I can view the content of the message, but the functionality has definitely changed. I've restarted both the watch and Garmin connect mobile. I've also toggled the notification switch for WhatsApp in the settings menu.

This is on a Fenix 3 with a Nexus 6P android phone Garmin connect mobile version 3.12.0.1

I'm having the same problem. I use pushbullet which gives me a notification of "1". I get texts that just say "ME" regardless if they came from me or not.

This started to happen since the update.

Same here, glad I'm not the only one with these issues... I thought I was losing it. Nexus 6P here as well.

I have the same problem that just occurred over the past week. I am running Android 6.x, Vivoactive 4.3, and latest Garmin Connect. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Connect and reset VivoActive to default settings. This seems to have occurred either when Connect auto upgraded or when VivoActive upgraded to 4.3. I have modified permissions etc. with no success. I believe this is a Connect issue based on my troubleshooting. This is based on the fact this issue occurred before/afte Vivoactive 4.3 upgrade aborted due to a space issue. So, Vivoactive 4.3 did not resolve the issue once I was able to get the Vivoactive upgraded.

Here are details of a post I placed in the VivoActive section before finding this post. Unfortunate we are having this issue but I am glad that I have found that I am not the only one. This has been extremely frustrating...

" Android Connect Text Messages Showing "Unread Messages "
I am running the latest Android 6.x with the latest Garmin Connect. My VivoActive now has the latest update on it. Over the past week it failed an update stating it was out of space. I removed some apps on the Vivo and the update loaded. Somewhere over the past week the Vivo now presents all my text messages as the following "1 Unread Message" with the "1" increasing based on the number of messages I have received from that person. Previously, the text message would appear with the name of the sender and the text itself as part of the notification. I can tap on the "1 unread message" notification and it will display the contents of the message. I would like for it to return to automatically displaying the sender and the text in the notification and not show the "1 unread message".

I have searched for several days trying to find a resolution. I have checked permissions, uninstalled Connect, rebooted Vivo and phone. I have no idea what is causing this issue.

Can any one help? I use TEXTRA as my messaging app. Nothing has changed there.

Text message notifications showing the number 1

Since the latest update all text message notifications are showing the number 1 instead of the text. Connect v3.12.0.1

A slight addition to my earlier post - just got a text (sms) message through, which I don't get many of. The Fenix 3 displayed the message correctly as a popup.
I then got a WhatsApp message. The watch just reported <sender> 1 message.

Again, Nexus 6P using stock messaging app and latest (from Google Play) Garmin Connect Mobile version.
