No text Smart Notifications

Hi,
since the update today I don´t get proper smart notifications on my Fenix 3. Before the update it gave me a preview of the message, now it just says the senders name and "1 new message" (in german "1 neue Nachricht")
How to fix this?

Another issue: After every update the inactivity alarm gets re-enabled...

I think leaving it 8 weeks before mentioning anything again counts as not spamming the forum, so...

Any danger of this issue being resolved?

Does Garmin not believe that my first WhatsApp message is worth viewing, but my second is?

Nope, Vivoactive HR is there. So no updates anymore.
One year support should be enough...

Same here with Fenix 3 and FR735, but not Vivoactive HR

I had the same problem with Fenix 3 (FW 8.20) and having it now with FR 735XT (FW 7.10, CIQ 2.2.1, Display 2.00). In between those two devices I had the Vivoactive HR (FW 3.40), and it worked fine there.

I dont use WhatsApp but Signal (another messaging app). Instead of the message(s) I just get "1", "2", etc... SMS and notifications from other apps (gmail, ebay, whatever) are being shown fine.

Android 7.1.1 at Galaxy S5.

Thanks Buckeye, this workaround works for me too. I have a google pixel, fenix 3 watch, (Software version 8.20, display 3.5, gps 3.00, ble/ant 3.6, wifi 2.00 ciq 1.4.2). I'm using Signal as my message application. When i get a message the watch says 'name of person' and '1', but if i hit start/stop it then shows the message. not ideal but at least it works.

Any updates to this issue? I just got my Fenix 3 HR and am coming from a vivoactive hr (which does show an SMS preview) and i tried my vzw message app and textra and still just shows up as the persons name and the +1, pretty sad that the vivoactive can do this and a watch that costs at least twice as much can't

Seems to be working now on the Fenix 3 HR, thanks for not forgetting about the older model products!!!:)

Do your audio prompts work? That is notification voice alerts of speed and pace or just messages in email, FB etc, cheers, Matt

Not working here, still get just "1 new message" for all whatsapps. Seems it's Garmin's usual forte, great hardware, crappy software. Damn, how I miss my old Pebble watch!

Garmin Fenix 5 same problem (1 new message) in my case only whatsApp (in fenix 3 same poblem)

I hate this, because it is a new version
