Find my phone - no sound on phone

Lately the find my phone feature no longer makes the phone sound an alarm. I think this happened from the new Garmin Connect version.

Do I have to change some settings?

I have a Fenix 3 watch.

in Android 10, insure the Garmin App is configured to "Display over other apps".
- Open "Apps and Notifications" from Android settings.

Hi, If you are using Android 10, you may need to set your "Appear On Top" for the Connect app in the setting to ON as well for the flash and tone to work.

It works for mine the moment I toggle…

I don't have an answer for you however I do recall seeing another thread about this within the last week or so that had a solution posted that was reported to work.
Unfortunately, I don't remember the solution either but look around the forum.
Hopefully you'll find it.

No, but I have Android 7 now and have not had that problem so far. I think Garmin Connect mutes the media sound on some phones.

It rings one and stops. And rings once again N seconds later. I think it used to just ring until I found it. But I may be wrong.

On my Pixel 3 I excluded the camera from the app permissions, and for a long time I couldn't figure out, why Find my Phone didn't work anymore. As soon as I gave Garmin Connect permissions to use the camera, both sound and flashing light worked again.

This worked for me too (rebooting my forerunner), and the same behavior -- one ring and stops until you clear the notification that the phone was found. Then it goes back to the "Locating..." screen and does the one ring again. Also only works when app is running...
Edit: actually sometimes when "Locating..." is on it will ring and keeping ringing, other times will ring and then stop.

The volume on your phone is set too low for the Find My Phone function. Try find my phone again from your watch, and while it is buzzing, increase the volume of your phone. The sound will come up. I still cant figure out how the sound for various applications is managed on the iPhone but this is the only solution i've found so far
