Can't sync with Wahoo Fitness

Former Member
Former Member
Up until a few days ago uploading activities from Fitness worked fine. Now I get a notification that the share failed. When I open the notification it just says "forbidden". I can share from Fitness to Strava, Training Peaks, Runkeeper, etc. I've tried restarting, uninstalling, reinstalling with no success. Help appreciated.
• I've got the same problem. I reported it on the 31 august to Wahoo and got the following reply. After a week I still can't get it to connect.
I suggest you open a ticket with Wahoo too.

Hi,
Sorry you are having this issue. Garmin updated their app on 8/30, it appears that this app update broke the sharing feature between the Wahoo Fitness app and Garmin Connect. Our developers are looking into this issue to see if there is a fix that we can do on our end. However, we may need to wait for Garmin to push a new update.
In the meantime, you can either share your workout from the Wahoo app to Strava and upload to Garmin from Strava, or you can email the file to yourself and upload that way.
Thanks,
Karen

I opened tickets with both Garmin and Wahoo on 9/3. Got the same reply from Wahoo that you did. Haven't heard from Garmin. It seems obvious the problem is with Garmin. Would be nice if they'd fix it or at least respond to my ticket.

I have the same problem. Wahoo is great and responded immediately while Garmin never responds. In the past I have contacted them only to be ignored. The last was when their update stopped registering sleep properly. They fixed it but never responded. Horrible Customer service.

I would agree about the customer service. I'm going to keep resending the problem report email until they respond or at least fix the problem.

This happened once before and I emailed Garmin about it but they just said they don't support the wahoo platform or something. Maybe it will fix with their next update.
• Please provide a copy of the correspondence from Garmin. Saying they "don't support the Wahoo platform or something" is not the same as saying they are not supporting it. The reply from them to your email, will allow us to see whether you are gilding the lily or not.

Sorry, but I tend to be a bit sceptical of first time posters...

I did get a response shown below - it appears that they may no longer support Wahoo or vice versa. I tried Run Keeper to connect but it only shows MyFitnessPal and apple health. Unfortunate as I really liked the Garmin app.
"Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I will be happy to assist you.
Garmin has partnered with the following third party fitness websites to facilitate the synchronization of data from Garmin Connect.
• Addaero
• Beginner Triathlete
• Endomondo
• Fetcheveryone
• Final Surge
• Make YES! Happen
• MapMyFitness (MapMyRide, MapMyRun)
• MyFitnessPal1
• Nike+
• Runcoach
• Run Keeper
• Strava2
• TrainingPeaks
Each site has a section to link their service with Garmin Connect. From whichever site you are visiting, select the option to link to your Garmin Connect account. You will be prompted to enter your Garmin Connect credentials. Once you have done this, you will be directed to Garmin Connect at which point the sync is complete.

thanks for the response. until this week I had no problem uploading workouts from Wahoo to garmin connect. the only change on my part was that my phone upgraded to the newest android software. the folks at wahoo said other people were experiencing the same issue and thought it had to do with your servers. thanks Ansel

Dear Ansel Rogers,

Thank you for contacting Garmin International.

Garmin has partnered with the following 3rd party fitness web sites to facilitate the synchronization of data from Garmin Connect.

TrainingPeaks
Runcoach
Strava
MapMyFitness (MapMyRide, MapMyRun)
Endomondo
MyFitnessPal*
Beginner Triathlete
Addaero
Endurance Tracker
Fecheveryone
Final Surge
Make YES! Happen
Currently MyFitnessPal is the only site that has a two-way sync of data. All of the other sites will sync with newly uploaded activities from Garmin Connect. Existing activities can be manually exported from Garmin Connect and then imported to the respective 3rd party web site.

Any issues regarding services from another app not listed above, would be the responsibility of that apps developer.

I'm having trouble uploading my workouts from Wahoo Fitness. I get a 503 error every time. Wahoo says it's something to do with your servers. Do you know when it will be fixed?
Thanks,
Ansel Rogers

F U Garmin

Spent so much time trying to send Wahoo app data to Garmin Connect... FAIL, FAIL, FAIL!!

Terrible Garmin support (non response).

I own their damn edge520 but can't upload my run data from Wahoo Fitness any longer?? Very douchey Garmin.
• It sounds like it may never get fixed. If so, perhaps go through an intermediate site like

https://tapiriik.com
or
https://www.fitnesssyncer.com
