Bluetooth keeps disconnecting on HUawei P8Lite

I have just purchased a FR230.
I have then downloaded the Connect app to my Android phone.

I havee no problem connecting the app with the phone.
I have a problem keeping the connnection.

The phone keeps saying: Phone connected ...... Phone disconnected.... Phone connected.... Phone disconnected.
When it doesnt say that, and keep connected, it will onlye do a syncronization one in 10 times.
When it does this disconnect/connect it actually disables the entire bluetooth. I can see this if I go into the phones settings

The FR230 runs firmware 4.70.
My Android phone is a HUawei P8Lite running Andriod 6.0
Specifications says it has bluetooth 4.0.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the app.
I have given the app permission to everything
I have ensured, that the phones batteryoptimzer doesn't close the app.

Has anyone anything to say here?

This time its not Garmins fault - or Android 6.0
I am sorry to say, that your P8 lite is a piece of junk. I am not saying that, because its not a high-end Smartphone - the P8 Lite COULD be a pretty good phone, BUT:

There are serious Bluetooth and WLAN issues, which Huawei have´nt fixed yet. The Gyro-Sensor was terrible and Huawei fixed it.....by deactivating it permanently.....

I got a P8 Lite too and I have exact the same problem. Connection loss until I reboot the smartphone. We can only hope that Huawei will fix that with a Software-Update but I think its a kind of Hardware issue which cant be fixed. Unfortunately the Smart notification of any Garmin device is pretty useless with a P8 Lite. OK, ANY Bluetooth device is pretty useless with a P8 Lite because of the connection loss.

After I did a downgrade to Android 5.0 and disabling 4G I have found that it works.
At least it has work the past 5-6 days without any problems.

I had just pressed the SUBMIT REPLY button yesterday, and the all problems on the reoccured.
I worked for almost a week. With no problem whatsoever.

And now I'm back to start.

Sinse I have tried Android 5 and 6, resetting the phone, the watch and a lot of stuff, I am starting to agree.
    P8Lite has problems.
  • After updating the FR230 to firmware 5.07 BETA - it seems my problems has gone away :)

So nice to read that. I'm having all sorts of troubles keeping my new Moto G4 running Android 6.0 Marshmallow and my FR25.

I have a Huawei P8 Lite and VA did not work correctly with Marshmallow, it only connected and synced after a phone reboot and re-pair.
OK, I downgraded to Lollipop and EMUI 3.4, installed GCM 3.9 : VA connected but disconnected few minutes after the phone was put to standby and reconnected every time the phone was active again.
OK again, I set location to always on and now it stayed connected for a couple of hours and I hope it will keep this way.
The phone has no hardware issues and supports BLE (in Garmin list there are mentioned P8 and P9 but P8 and P9 lite do not have different BT modules).
I have BT headphones for running and they never ever disconnected, no signal issues even if they are some cheap stuff.
    Can't Garmin solve this incompatibility?
It is weird to indirectly force me to buy a certain phone in order to use a product...even if P8 lite is some piece of crap according to some, I like it, it is a cheap and stable Chinese phone doing a very good job, nothing to criticise.

Have you activated the protection of the app in Huawei Settings?
Otherwise Huawei will close the program everytime it goes into standby?
