Bluetooth keeps disconnecting on HUawei P8Lite

I have just purchased a FR230.
I have then downloaded the Connect app to my Android phone.

I havee no problem connecting the app with the phone.
I have a problem keeping the connnection.

The phone keeps saying: Phone connected ...... Phone disconnected.... Phone connected.... Phone disconnected.
When it doesnt say that, and keep connected, it will onlye do a syncronization one in 10 times.
When it does this disconnect/connect it actually disables the entire bluetooth. I can see this if I go into the phones settings

The FR230 runs firmware 4.70.
My Android phone is a HUawei P8Lite running Andriod 6.0
Specifications says it has bluetooth 4.0.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the app.
I have given the app permission to everything
I have ensured, that the phones batteryoptimzer doesn't close the app.

Has anyone anything to say here?
  • I just tried it on my wifes iPhone.
    Work smoothly.

So issue must be with Huawei P8Lite

I have the exact same problem while using Galaxy Note 3 on Android 5
  • And you didn't find a solution?

I did a lot of connect, disconnect, install and uninstall.

At some point I got it to work.
It worked for 36 hours (or something like that).
Then yester when I came home, it started again.

I had to removed watch from app., uninstall connect and remove all registrered (other) bluetooth devices from settings on the phone.

I then got all to connect again. Took me several hours.

Now I have a connection. Sort of. Now its just disconnects every once in a while. Often reconnects at once.

It seems as if I am not at home, it works.
When I come home it starts with this.

can it be other devices that influence on my phone?
    My wifes iPhone?
The few Bluetooth devices we have, which have not been connected to anything?
  • I did a total rest to factory settings yesteday on the phone.
I even selected to delete all settings.

After this the first thing I did was to download connect app. I connected the watch.
    It went smoothly.

I then downloaded all my apps. One by one and set them all up.
I decided to leave some apps out, which I doesn't use anymore.

I then connected my Jabra sport headset and my "toilet" bluetooth speaker (Sandbert).
    So far so good.

    I have my watch connected.
It this point it only disconnects when I am out of reach of the phone and everytime I connect a headset. But then it reconnects at once.

So - maybe it will work.
    I'll post an update
  • It has not solved the problem.
    Its the same.

    It works on and off.
And I have experienced, that while running, it disconnects my headset.

I will try to locate another phone and test with this.
  • I have tried using my wifes forerunner 920.

When idle it keeps the connection a lot better than FR 230.
When connecting an bluetooth headset, it starts to enabled/disable bluetooth at the same time.

My wife have had my FR 230 connected to her iPhone 6.
    No problem.

I can only make the conclussion that Huawei P8Lite running Android 6.0 has some kind of problem with Bluetooth ....
  • This issue should be related with Android 6.0.
There has been a lot of threads reporting same problem with different kind of mobile phone manufactores.

It has been reported as relation with Location service. Some persons have found solution by giving all kind of rights to keep location on all the time.

I had similar problem with LG G3 and managed to solve it just by rooting phone + enabling location service.

Vivoactive - iPhone - Losing Connections

I have a Vivoactive (V3.70 with iPhone 6 running iOS 9.3.2) and I often lose connections. If I go to Bluetooth, Pair Mobile Device it MIGHT synch with my watch. Often I need to use the Connect app on my phone , but minutes later, the connection is lost. I notice this when I select Weather on my watch, and I see: “Garmin Connection Mobile Connection Required”
My phone is in my pocket and watch on my wrist, so I can’t explain why the connection is routinely lost.
Today, while my wrist was within 18 inches of my phone, I started getting “Phone Disconnected.”
    Any help is appreciated.

You should only connect the watch in the control app.
    Not within the phones settings.

If this problem still occurs, I would see if anything does a something at specific times, which can lead to this...

But since you have an iPhone, you might get a better respons if you ask in the connect app iOS forum
