Forerunner 245 dropping connection with iPhone

I have a Forerunner245 Music, it's 3 years old and I've had no problems with it until now. I got a new iPhone 17Pro and have had problems ever since.

The watch connects with ease and I get notifications for a short period of time but it then drops bluetooth connection. If I go inot bluetooth settings on the phone it won't re-connect, I have to manually delete it in the app adn then re-connect it. The phone is within close proximity almost all the time.

Is there a setting in my phone that I need to change? Has anyone lese experienced this and resolved it?

Thanks

  • There are a few things that can impact the connectivity with your phone:

    • If you are still using/own your old phone, I would recommend removing the watch from the Bluetooth settings to make sure it is not trying to re-connect there.
    • Check your Focus Mode setting on your phone to make sure the scheduling is not the cause. if you are unsure how to find this after you open Settings then scroll down and locate the setting called Focus. This icon should be purple with a moon.
    • If battery saver is enabled on the watch. This would change the watch face to a dark screen with just the time. Once it is out of this mode then it will re-connect like normal. To find this you would go into the watch settings > Power Manager > Battery Saver.

I would recommend if you are still having issues to uninstall/reinstall the Connect app and double-check that the device is not behind on software.
