Junk mail on my forerunner 165

I  bought a Forerunner 165 for its longer battery life, and it has exceeded expectations, but today I was doing strides on a track so always within 200 meters of my iPhone. What a disaster. Twice in a row my lap information came up only to be blocked by “This person likes your Facebook post” and then “so anso wants to connect through LinkedIn. I guessed my pace, was wrong, went too slow. Really this is the default? To make good focused workouts into mediocre distracted ones? How do you turn this off.

  • Plenty of options: disable notifications selectively in Facebook, or disable FB (and other unwanted) notifications on your iPhone, or disable notifications on the watch while in an activity, or disable them altogether. You can also disable Bluetooth on the phone while training, or on the watch, or you can create a Power Mode disabling BT and assign it to the activity - in that way BT will be off whenever you start the activity using that power mode.

  • Thanks! I have disabled notifications on my watch and it seems to be working.
