Garmin Vector S2 pedal

I am having trouble connecting my Garmin vector S2 to my Apple Watch. The pedal does not appear in my Bluetooth settings on my watch. Can the S2 connect to an Apple Watch? If so how?

  • Vector S2 is an ANT+ sensor, it won't appear among Bluetooth devices. Check whether your Apple Watch supports ANT+. AFAIK up to recently Apple Watch only supported Bluetooth and BTLE, but I do not follow the development at Apple closely, so am not sure whether it is still true at the latest generation too.

  • Thanks for the reply. So I was thinking since my pedals are ANT+ signals I should be able to buy a blue tooth converter maybe?

  • blue tooth converter maybe?

I do not think anything like that exists. There are ANT+ dongles for computers, but you cannot plug it into an Apple Watch. There are some software tools for converting an ANT+ signal to BT, but you would have to ride with a computer nearby, so it is only viable for indoor rides.

You better either change the pedals, or the watch, or get a cycling computer compatible with your pedals. Knowing the price of power pedals, getting a new watch or a bike computer is probably the less expensive alternative. You can get some quite good products under $200

  • Will be fine for zwift. Get the head unit if your wanna use them outside.

    No clue as for spacing.

  • Personally, I'd spend the extra hundred bucks for the Vector 3s. IMHO the easy, pod-less setup, with no need to worry about make them a lot more useful. This is especially true if you plan on swapping them between bikes. The Powertap P1s are similarly easy to setup, but I prefer the sleeker profile and standard Look cleat compatibility of the Vector 3.
