The user experience of the CIQ store app is poor (sometimes it takes several seconds for the Installed Apps page to become ready).

When you select My Device in the CIQ store app, you're taken to the Installed Apps page which shows you counts of all your different app types. You have to wait for these counts to finish populating before you can do anything (like navigate into an app type and select an individual app). Sometimes the app counts are populated fairly quickly, but sometimes it takes several seconds to do so.

It seems that Garmin Connect does this a bit better - on the app types page, you can select an app type immediately (there are no counts), and once you do so, you always only have to wait 1 or 2 seconds for apps to be populated.

TL;DR it's very annoying for the user to have to wait for *all* apps to be enumerated in order to select an app type to look at. Maybe this could be cached, or maybe the UI could be changed so that the user can select an app type regardless of whether the counts are populated yet or not?

  • I am sorry that the experience is unsatisfactory. We are working on improving the communication between the app and the devices.

  • Thanks! Please note that the experience of the Garmin Connect iOS app (which used to provide much of the same functionality), was far superior (in terms of navigating to the apps installed on your device.). (Even though it did have several bugs, as well.)

    It is still faster to navigate to app sections (Data Fields, Widgets, etc.) in Garmin Connect.
