Quickdraw contours not showing for upload

I have shared multiple quickdraw comunity downloads this year and as of yet I don't believe one has showed up for download to the comunity. Is there a problem with the system? Could I be doing something wrong? ???  It seem to work reasonably well last season.

  • IT's not only you, I have the same problem. Over the last few years I've unloaded/downloaded many contour mappings I've done between all the Garmin devices I own. Since this Winter, none of my contour uploads show up in the Garmin Connect website. I've changed accounts, used different files and no luck so far. Garmin, what's going on?

  • Well glad to see it's not just me

    What the h.... Garmin?

  • Yes Garmin, what is up? I bought more depth finders to use this specific feature and it's not working. It would be nice to know who to contact to get support. So far my emails/calls/chats with support haven't proved to be constructive.

  • I got a response from my latest email to Garmin about this. It doesn't instill much confidence! Here it is...

    Thank you for choosing Garmin,
We are working on our processing system to make to make order on the criteria.
It was random before and now it should follow the upload time criteria.
At the moment we have a delay of about 2 months. We are processing the logs of the first of June.
I have asked to prioritize yours. We have found 7 logs by June.

  • Not much of an answer  last year they would show up often within mInutes. Now 2 months?  Thanks for your reply

  • I uploaded in late july and havent seem my contours on the website yet...  its late September.

  • I am having the smae problem I am using Active Captain to upload my Quickdraw contours, but the contours I have uploaded this year don't show up only my waypoints seem to get uploaded. See 93sv screen & Active Captain screen notice on far left & right waypoints show up on both, but contours only show up on 93sv screen.

I have called Support only thing they have had me do is delete active captain app & reload it which didn't work.

  • Garmin support is terrible. I usually use the chat option here so I don't have to waste my time on the phone. Once I got excellent support and the person prioritized the content related to my account in the queue, it was processed the next day. The second time I got someone who was no help at all, but my contours showed up a couple days later. You can try that option by going here.

Good luck, I hope you have some success. It shouldn't be this difficult.

  • I have had the same issue with uploading maps from a fly in lake in Canada that we have been mapping over the last few years. This August no uploads have made it onto the community and if we lose our Stryker unit we now will lose all mapping data. After multiple emails finally got some information worth sharing..

"As far as the Community downloads on the ActiveCaptain app how they work is when an individual records an area and shares it with the community it goes into review. Once our cartography team receives enough submissions they're able to verify to authenticity of the reports and then will release them to the public. This is why there's a varying time frame for each location. "

"Unfortunately we do not have exact dates for when lakes are going to be update in the future as there are too many variables.  Additionally, as Bryce mentioned below there is a process to getting community downloads published, so we cannot offer a timeframe.  My anecdotal experience is that I have seen some published within a few weeks while others were not published due to issues with the content.  I know that is less than helpful but we are unable to give exact time frames on these things for the previously mentioned reasons."

So bottom line is that Garmin decides what maps they upload to their "community". The cynic in me says that they wont bother with remote areas people wont buy from them in future. Not having an SD card on the Strykers might force us to buy a whole new unit

Anyone have any hacks on how to save maps from a Stryker without uploading to QuickDraw Community?

  • i am facing the exactily same problem in japan.
what's going on in garmin support?
