Garmin Express Sync Issues

I installed Garmin Express 4.0.11.0 and now every time I connect my Forerunner 610, it always re-syncs the entire history that is on the watch, and not just the last run. Each sync now takes about an hour. Are there any settings or changes I can make to prevent this ?
  • I have the exact same problem. My device is a Forerunner 910 XT. Also have GE 4.0.11.0 running on a Mac.

    Aside from selecting to resend all, I haven't heard of reports of this happening. Is it happening on the most current version of Express?

  • Everything seems OK now for me. I deleted all the history on my device and upgraded to latest GE (4.0.14.0).

    Albert, I'm having trouble. I have a map in GC that I want to send to my device. When I invoke the "SEND TO DEVICE" button the pop-up window shows the map, and it shows the device (Edge 800). When I press the "SEND NOW" button, another pop-up screen shows a red error bar that says it could not sync to GE. It also says "YOU HAVE ITEMS READY TO INSTALL" but when I invoke that button it goes back to the same sync error message.
    Any ideas to try?

    I am having the same problem today - I now have two items in the queue, but neither will sync to my 910. It was working fine last week?
  • Have you guys tried a different browser? Have you recreated the course/workout that you are trying to send?

    Hmmm, using a Mac so I don't have the option of using a different browser. I'm sure it's something not communicating, just don't know what. I simply uploader a GPX file to GC, and it displays it just fine. It's when I invoke "send to device" that it chokes.

    You can use multiple browsers even though you are on Mac. You can try Chrome, or Firefox to see if any of them will work for you. If not, contact support.

    I've got the same issue with my 910xt. I had the same issue with the last (short lived) update and this one in the last 24 hours. Its on the garmin express app phase and not in garmin connect to doesn't seem to be browser related. Its been running for about 20 minutes and not even half way yet and has been like this all week. I ran a marathon yesterday so hard reset is not an option......

    I am sorry that you are having trouble syncing your device. Can you try a test activity now that you have synced your marathon (just start, stop and reset). This may have just taken a long time because you had such a large activity to upload. If you are still experiencing where all of the old activities are uploading each time you sync, I would try a master reset now that you have uploaded your marathon.
