Auto Delete after Sync'ing

Hi there.

Anybody know how to reset the Forerunner 301XT and Garmin Express Application so that the application does NOT automatically delete data on the watch once it syncs to the app/website?

In advance of your reply, I thank you.

Thank you,

David

The option to Erase data on this device after successfully syncing is found under the Device menu. Scroll down to the Garmin Connect Account section and uncheck the box.

I can not locate the option to stop by edge 500 from deleting activities after the sync. I used the new software today and everything was deleted before it synced. I'm a little frustrated. I've looked under the device tab on the garmin express app and mygarmin. Where is it?? Argh!
  • It is there where Curt has directed you. However, despite a couple of emails and posts here nobody from Garmin has said anything about the problems I have experienced with having the setting to delete after synching. Namely, that each time I have done this, the transfer has been screwed and the activity data lost.

    910XT and iMac with 10.9.3

Care to comment Curt? This has been with different versions of GE, but not the latest as I have not had anything I want to lose.

I'm trying to set it up to delete my history after synching from my Forerunner 410, however I don't have a Garmin Connect Account section on the device menu.

Express is linked to my Connect account and I can transfer data to and from Connect using Express.

Is the Garmin Connect Account section not available for the 410?
  • I have the same problem with my 910XT and Garmin Express:
After enabling the Automatic deletion in Garmin Express I have had several instances of the device seemingly connecting to Garmin Express ("transferring data" shows on the 910 as well as in the Mac software window), but the data not showing in Garmin Connect.
Very frustrating, as data is lost.
I have disabled the Auto deletion, and will check if that happens again.

I have spent a lot of time looking for this option and it doesn't appear. Perhaps it isn't available for the Edge 500 or it isn't reading my device properly.

Same problem I've had with GE and auto delete. All works when auto delete is turned off.

Following an update to Garmin Express today, I can now see the Connect account settings.

Although from what others are saying I may leave it set to not delete after synching for the moment!!

    Hi
I am having exactly the same problems, 910XT and a Mac - I previously set it to auto delete after uploading, but with the latest update it is deleting without all of the activities uploading correctly, and then my data is lost.
I can not find anywhere on the new Garmin Express to stop auto delete.
Can anyone please advise where it is?

The erase after successful sync option was removed from Garmin Express. The Activities have to be manually deleted from the History menu on the fitness device. Please see the FAQ: How can I resend my history from my wireless watch to my computer? if you want to resend an activity through Express.
