Garmin Express cannot be installed on macOS 27 Golden Gate

As per screenshot, the Garmin Express installer does not work on macOS 27 with Apple silicon hardware. The installer appears to contain a hard check for intel based hardware, which Apple has not shipped in over 6 years.

  • Come on Garmin, Mac OS 27 is now live, fix this issue. Also, while you are at it, Apple offers a tool to convert your application to a Universal app instead of requiring an Intel processor.

  • on my macbook air i installed express on os 26 , then uppdated to 27 and express still works but says it have a update, if i try to update i get the sam messege, really weird that older version works on os 27

  • @Garmin

if you care about you customers or want to sell your GE related products to Mac users, you might want to update the GE download page.

Especially fresh maOS 27 installs are affected as the current GE installer dies not work.

    Thanks Blush

  • same issue here.Garmin #Fail.

  • And even if you have it installed -- can not install updates, can not sync activity data.

    Garmin asleep at the wheel?

Shipping product ( Fenix 9 ) that can not be used ?

  • So true! Venu X1 also won't go ahead. No option to sync music, all buttons dead :(

  • Mine came back with:
...permission denied, retrying with sudo (you may be prompted for your password)
    Password: a key icon
I entered my password, and I got a screenful of stuff with "Operation not permitted" repeated numerous times.

  • I was prompted to give Terminal permission, I did, and I started again. This time, after I entered my password, fewer lines, but I don't think it worked:

  • wow. I didnt think this would actually work but it worked wonderful. Thanks

  • I am having the same issue.  Really getting fed up with the shoddy software Garmin puts out.  I had it installed prior to upgrading and it won't run.  I uninstalled/reinstalled it, and it won't run.

Garmin's are too expensive for this to be a thing.
