Can you click on Garmin Express in the menu bar > Preferences > Advanced > Change country?
same issue. I know my password but it rejects it.
HI there, I have sent an email to gather additional information in regards to the error that you are experiencing. If anyone else is experiencing this issue, please reply directly to this comment.
Hi I am having the same issue on my MAC. I can't change from the Chinese Mainland. Really annoying! All I want to do is update the maps! Why is there no MAC version of Garmin Connect? This is so stupid!
Worked for me but this is a weird bug and it needs to be fixed.
It won’t connect to the domain.
I too can only connect to the Chinese servers. I am unable to change domains nor successfully log into Garmin Express. This is really frustrating. Garmin already has the worst music streaming capabilties and I now we can't upload our own Mp3's.
Do this. It works. If you’re on Mac. Go to your WiFi settings and click details on your WiFi connection. Then click DNS from the menu on the left and you will see a box with a plus and minus. Click the plus to add the DNS servers - Google 8.8.8.8 and Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 Using these gives Garmin Express a cleaner connection and allows it to recognize you are not in the Chinese servers. After that you just restart the software and instead of getting the error message from advanced preferences you will get a dropdown menu where you select your country.
I tried that yesterday and same thing. I have run multiple error reports and it seems there is a bug in the Express build.I have since given up and found an easier way to add music files by using Android file transfer for mac.
Thanks! This answer worked for me on a Macbook Pro with macOS 26.5.2.
I'm having the same problem on a Mac. The DNS suggestion did not fix the error. I've rebooted, changed DNS, reloaded Garmin Express and it still thinks I'm in China
