Garmin Express doesnt have a "login" page

I just picked up a Descent and trying to hook up it up to Garmin Express. Everything works fine until I get to my login page. The pop up page pops up to login but its blank. It also does this with create an account "button" ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1453470.png
  • Macbooks with El Capitan are stil working fine. So if your Mac does not support High Sierra, you need to buy a new Mac to be able to use Garmin Express? That’s ridiculous!
  • Same for me, just purchased a Fenix 5 and now get a blank login page when trying to connect with Garmin Express. Using 10.10.5, worked fine with my Forerunner 230.

So disappointing, is there a work around for this?
  • I have been having this same issue with Garmin Express for over a month. I have installed v6.12.0.0 for Mac (running High Sierra v10.13.6).

I see my Garmin device, a Forerunner 235, on the main screen when I launch the application.

When I click on the device, I get the "Re-authentication Required" pop-up error box, which says "We're having trouble linking to your Garmin Connect account. To continue, please sign in again."

After I click "OK", I attempt to enter my email and password, and I enter the same ones that I have just entered into the Garmin Connect website and iPhone app,. All I get is a greyish screen that appears to be hung on the login attempt, even if I leave it there for an hour+. Note: if I enter the wrong password in the Garmin Express application it definitely tells me I have attempted an invalid sign in, so at least that part of the authentication process is working!

Will someone from Garmin support possibly provide a solution to this?
  • I have poked around on the Garmin support websites and found the following link:

    https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=6nBhfHhXik18XrRU6BfULA&productID=168768&tab=topics&topicTag=region_installsetup

I have uninstalled the Garmin Express application completely, them reinstalled v6.12.0.0, and it seems to have done the trick.

If you decide to try this, follow every step in the link above. I tried the simple "drag to trash" approach without going after all the libraries/preferences/caches and that didn't work. Following all 21 steps in the link above did work.

Did this work for the El Capitan OSX folks? I did exactly as instructed for the uninstall, re-installed a clean versions of 6.12 and I'm still getting a blank logon screen... Garmin, what the...????
  • Im using el capitan.. tried the full uninstall and still got blank login window. any update on this?
  • Hi folks,

I have exactly the same issue.
I am running OSX 10.10.5 (Yosemite) on an iMac 27'' (late 2009) and OSX 10.11.6 (El Capitan) on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13' mid 2014).
On both machines, no version of Garmin express worked, so far. I tried:

    5.5.1.0
    6.5.1.0
    6.11.0.0
    6.12.0.0

I installed and un-installed them all, according to Garmin's tip. No luck...
Garmin, please release a GE version for older Macs, as you did in the past already. Your system requirements are no problem for the machines, however at some point, it seems that Garmin-server deny access when trying to login.

    Thank you
  • Had the same issue. Following the complete uninstall and reinstall instructions of Garmin Express did not work on my Macbook running El Capitan.

Found this app instead by Garmin. Worked like a charm to get my Vivosport updated! https://www8.garmin.com/products/web...wtoinstall.jsp

    Hope this helps!
