I can't get Garmin Express to open and register my Edge 800. It works on my wife's Mac Book Air but not on my MacBook Pro. I have upgraded to El Capitan. Removed all previous G Exp folders and tried reinstalling using both Safari and Firefox. After downloading G Exp I click on the teardrop icon and then a rectanglar icon opens but just hangs on the screen. I have 25 gb of disc space and 2gb of ram. Patience is wearing thin. Please help.
I have completely uninstalled GE, reinstalled and, and still get the (nor responding) message. I'm normally able to work around it and get my workouts uploaded but it doesn't see, to work at all anymore. And this is recent. VERY frustrating! I'm using a 310XT.
Same bug for me :mad: on an iMac 27" late 2009 running 10.11.4. I did all what is recommended in this forum but it did not solve the issue. Express works correctly for few seconds then hang for hours with the color spinning wheel.
I am sorry you are having trouble with Garmin Express on your Mac getting stuck. If you have gone through all the troubleshooting steps provided, then we need to try more in-depth troubleshooting that can't be done well via forum. As mentioned, please call ">Product Support">Product Support for more complex troubleshooting.
Phenomenal service here, folks. I called Garmin service, as was suggested. I spent about an hour with Kenny! He took over my Mac, deleted a few things and then worked on GE. Then we went into my keychain, deleted more stuff. It seems that the ANT sticks are troublesome, something to do with permissions on the Mac. Anyway, we kept getting the spinning wheel. So I opened a new Admin ID on my Mac. Opened GE and it finally worked after I signed in.
So a HUGE thanks to the Garmin team for your time and patience! I really appreciate the personal service. It's the best service I've had in a LONG time!
I tried to instal the new updated version of GE & now it won't open just keeps hanging, I've been to the black triangle at the top & clicked on preferences & now it won't let me click on the uncheck keep running in the background as it just is hanging?
I've uninstalled & reinstalled it about a dozen times now
Have you followed the instructions above that explains how to fully uninstall and then install Express? If so, again as posted above, call Product Support for detailed troubleshooting.
I've followed all the pointless guff recommended by Garmin. The fact is that this version of Garmin Express has problems, phoning their support line will not solve anything... This is yet another poor release of a poor application that is required to do anything with the device - as I've completely reset the device, yet GE doesn't work, I am not able to actually set it up.
Garmin should be ashamed to release such poor quality software then tell users to go through these activities. I am 100% certain that a perfectly functional Edge 1000 that was connecting via a perfectly working version of GE, but then an 'upgrade' suddenly stops working - I find it scary that customers are letting Garmin remotely access their Mac and poke around! Review and evaluate the software reports via Apple or users and actually fix the problem.
