Garmin Express Re-authentication required

Former Member

Garmin Express won't login to sync with Garmin Connect - it keeps reporting "Re-authentication required". This has been on going for about 24 hours. My login details are correct I have checked them very carefully.
  • This used to be a common problem a few months ago but this problem seems to have mostly disappeared. I think a number of people ended up calling support. That's probably what you should do.

This error was corrected with the Express version 4.0.25.0. However the current version is 4.1.3 which can be downloaded from here:

    http://download.garmin.com/omt/express/B/GarminExpressInstaller.exe

The error was caused by corrupted data in the Sync folder on the computer. However, if the activities on your device are corrupted, it may still give the re-authentication prompt. If you have a mass-storage device, try uploading them manually:

If you have an ANT Fitness device, try clearing the sync folder on the computer:

If you continue to experience the re-authentication prompt, contact Product Support by phone as we will need to gather more information.

Clearly none of the above as it just started working again after 30 hours. I did nothing to fix it and I was already running GE 4.1.3.

Presumably some sort of server glitch.
