Edge 810 - "This device is not compatible with Garmin Express"

What a totally nasty thing!! I'm having brand new Edge 810 and after 2 days it stopped working with Express. WebUpdater works. USB cables are OK. Same result on all computers I have tried. I am running 3.6 firmware.

My idea is that this is somehow associated with the records, which Express is saving whether on HDD or on Garmin servers.

Anybody solved this issue?

    More frustration ... just uninstalled Garmin Express and reinstalled it ... when it gets to the search for devices part I plug in the 810 and it fails to recognise it .... really, really frustrating. God knows what the clowns at Garmin are up to ... I cannot recommend their product. Why cant we use Bluetooth to connect - why is Bluetooth only available for smarthphones and not PCs ... does Garmin actually employ anyone with any IT expertise ... I am annoyed, as you might tell (when I pay over £300 for a product, I expect it to work, not give my high blood pressure) ... no doubt some clown from Garmin will come on here and tell me that it is my fault with the set up.

    I've just got the reply from Garmin support. There is some trouble with the servers in the headquarters, the troubleshooting is in progress... :-)) must wait a bit...

    I have the same problem with my Garmin Forerunner 620 which I bought today. Nice start...

    So Garmin, get to work and fix it!!

    ...
    worth a try



    is so strange...but i will try tonight .

    I can confirm that changing Region format to English (United States) solved the problem with device is not compatible with Garmin Express.

    I also confirm that changing Region format to English (United States) solved the problem with "Device is not compatible with Garmin Express"

    Instructions as previously posted:
    1- Uninstall Garmin Express from Windows
    2- Change Regional Format to English
    3- Restart Windows
    4- Install Garmin Express

    Once again thx to Garmin I spent another hour troubleshooting instead of being with the family, training or working
  • I can confirm that this solved the problem for me too, with both Vivofit and Forerunner 620

    Many thanks to the community for providing the answer, shame on Garmin for ignoring the problem.
