Garmin Express - "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect."

Hi All,

I am looking for some help with the below issue:

I am able to sync my Garmin Edge 800 & 810 with my Garmin connect account, I.E it is sync my recent activities, but it will not allow me to push new courses created and throw up the error within Garmin express ""There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect." even-though the last sync time with my device is being updated within the software.

All of my software is up to date in regards to device firmware and Garmin Express.

I have two devices, a edge 800 & 810 that both experience these issues, I have also tried using a different computer, using a different network to perform the send to device action.

    When will you be sorting this issue out - I'm growing really tired of not being able to use my Garmin device(s) with your software?

    Can anyone else recommend other software that works well with Garmin devices - or another brand of device - where the software works? Don't really want to change device manufacturer, but currently my Garmin devices are pretty useless, because of their untested software.

    They are agressive on price to. Bad timing for Garmin to screw up again with their untested software update.

    same with my Edge 705, they just screw up any device that are not syncing through wifi/bluethoot. (older ones)

    I must say my wife has had Polar devices and they have worked from day one.

    She has always uploaded data and every time it worked.
    Not like Garmin Express with it's untested updates every week or so.
    I have stopped using GE and only use my phone app to update to Garmin Connect.
    That still works.........

    I think it is time to move over to Polar for my next device.
  • Hy. Try to reduce the number of characters of the workout/course so it can fit on the watch screen. I had the same issue, i was trying tu upload a workout named "5X Intervals" and it gave me an error. I renamed it 5XInt and it worked.

    Hopefully Garmin will listen to these comments and take note. I'm going to give them one more chance, the defect over to Polar - the M450 really is a nice looking piece of kit - and at a fraction of the price of the new Edge.

    To me the key is stability. Since the move to Garmin Express I've had to miss quite a few workouts due to software instability.

    Back in the old days of training centre, it was up to you when you wanted to upgrade, these days we have updates forced upon us. This would be great, if those updates had been tested.

    As far as I can tell Garmin Express only does 2 things - receives activities and sends courses. They only have a handful of devices - if they can't figure out how to do automated testing then surely they could hand it to an office junior to 30 mins and ask them to make sure the basics work. Very poor show from what used to be a company that led the way.

    Same. Garmin 305. Can't sync courses. Very disappointing. I've tried all the suggestions.
  • I am sorry for the troubles. There is a known issue with the Edge 305,605,705 receiving Courses from Garmin Connect. The Garmin Connect team is aware of the issue and working on a resolution. Again, I am sorry for the troubles.

    Garmin express not syncing with edge 510 with 3.5 firmware. Bluetooth not syncing as

    Dear Curt,

    Like many customers, I did the update of my firmware on my Edge 510. Since then, I can't sync my data via Garmin Express but I also have no way to successfully sync it via bluetooth either. It connects with the phone without any problem but when syncing starts, it freezes at some points.

    I tried to downgrade to 3.2 but even by following the steps with gupdate.gcd in the garmin folder but it also doesn't work as when it starts, it starts as usual.

    My edge 510 is an asia version.

    How come this could happen in the GPS leader in the market? How come does it takes so long? Next update should actually be a downgrade as it was working perfectly until now!

    It's a complete nightmare

    Why don't you add a download gpx button on the Garmin Connect website? At least we will be able to copy on SD card....
