310XT no longer syncing - "Re-authentication Required"

Been trying to upload some courses to my 310xt for the last few days and not had any success. It has worked before. Tried installing express again, master reset the watch etc etc and no joy. Now the watch will not upload my run from today - complains of "re-authentication required".

When I remove the watch from express then add it in again, the first time sync turns off the watch. Then when I turn it back on again and try another sync - I get the same error message.

I see alot of posts like this one about the latest express update. Where can I roll back to a previous version?

Yep - mine states its synced, but it has not.

Its working now on ANT agent, i'll continue to use it until Garmin get there act together.

I am having the same syncing problem. It used to but wont anymore, although it says it has. This workaround did not resolve the problem.

If Express says it synced but no new activities are showing up in the Connect account then you need to remove the device from both Express and Connect then Master Reset it before adding it back again. Please see the FAQs:

How do I delete a fitness device from Garmin Express?

How do I master reset the Forerunner 310XT?

Garmin Express 4.0.20.0 with a 310XT and i have the same Re-Authentication issue. I have completed the removal of the folder under C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Devices\, uninstalled and reinstalled GE, and also reset my 310XT to make it 'pair' again. The sync works the first time, but then if i complete another event the next day and sync, i get the same issue.

Surely we don't have to remove and re-add the garmin device each and everytime I do a new event?!

The troubleshooting you did should have corrected the issue. If you previously used the Garmin ANT Agent you might have some left over files that are contributing to the authentication issue. Delete the UnitID folder for the 310XT from the %appdata%\Garmin\Devices\ folder.

    1. Press the Windows key + R
    2. Type %appdata%\Garmin\Devices
    3. Click OK
    4. Delete the UnitID folder for the 310XT

If you continue to have troubles I suggest contact us by phone so it can be investigated further.

Again, I am sorry for the troubles.
