Cannot send Courses to 310xt

Hi guys,

I really hope somebody will be able to help me out here. I am in contact with Garmin Support via e-mail for about 2 months now and I still have this very frustrating issue: I CANNOT SEND anything (courses, workouts) FROM GC TOWARDS 310xt, but I CAN DOWNLOAD activities FROM 310xt TOWARDS GC.

I have tried this on both Windows 7 and MacOS Yosemite. I have already performed master resets for numerous times. I have already removed and re-added my device numerous times from Express, nothing seems to work.

I have installed the latest version of Garmin Express after Garmin Support told me that this version contains the fix for my problem. It obviously doesn't as you can see in the attachements. Garmin Express will display the items it needs to send to the device, but shorty after I hit Install I will see an error saying "There was en error syncing with Garmin Connect"

    So, the logs will give you more information than the message on the original post which doesn't say anything.
    Do the following...
    Download the log collector: http://download.garmin.com/omt/tools/GarminExpressLogCollector.exe
    Start it but do not gather the logs yet
    Start GE and reproduce the error you're seeing.
    Now go to the log collector window that is open and gather logs. This will generate a zip file with logs.
    Upload this zip file somewhere (dropbox for example), make it public and share the link here.

    If you have trouble sharing the file send it to my email and I will make sure I will place it in a shareable place for everyone. For my email send me a PM. I will look at the logs and try to help.

    Everyone,

    It would be best at this point to contact Product Support by phone for further assistance with this issue. It may be similar to an open case for sending workouts to devices but we need the additional information to confirm.

    If only what you suggested would actually work. As mentioned I am in contact with Garmin Support for more than 2 months now. All they did was to close the case on numerous occasisions while I was pointing out the issue is still there. This is definitely the worst Support experience I've ever had.

    Try to shorten the name of your courses, workouts, ... to only 4 or 5 characters.
    It worked for me on a forerunner 305 with the same problem.

    I am sorry that you are having trouble syncing. Since you are able to sync with the 405, the location that these files are store at in the 310XT is most likely corrupt. In order to resolve this, first sync any activities on the device and then master reset the device.

  • I did a master reset of my 310xt and was able to sync a workout one time. And now it's not working again when I try to sync other workouts. Am I supposed to do a master reset every time? This is very frustrating.
  • I've got the same issue for months now! I'm really staring do doubt Garmin's ability to produce software working properly. My Garmin Express is once again giving problems after the new update.
  • I have the same problem. I can send a run from my 310 to Connect, using express. I can also send my own files/runs from connect to my 310. I have found a lot of rutes on gpsies.com, that I would really like to run, but I just can't send any of them to my 310 :(

    There is a reported issue with Courses created from Imported gpx files. If you create the Course manually in the Courses menu then you will be able to send it to the device. This should be corrected in a future Garmin Connect update.

    Do you know when this update will be send out ? Are we talking a few months, 6 months or more ?

    I did that right now and have the same issue. It doesn't work in any way! :mad:
