Cannot send Courses to 310xt

Hi guys,

I really hope somebody will be able to help me out here. I am in contact with Garmin Support via e-mail for about 2 months now and I still have this very frustrating issue: I CANNOT SEND anything (courses, workouts) FROM GC TOWARDS 310xt, but I CAN DOWNLOAD activities FROM 310xt TOWARDS GC.

I have tried this on both Windows 7 and MacOS Yosemite. I have already performed master resets for numerous times. I have already removed and re-added my device numerous times from Express, nothing seems to work.

I have installed the latest version of Garmin Express after Garmin Support told me that this version contains the fix for my problem. It obviously doesn't as you can see in the attachements. Garmin Express will display the items it needs to send to the device, but shorty after I hit Install I will see an error saying "There was en error syncing with Garmin Connect"

    Hi All,

I'm having exactly the same frustating problem! I've spent hours/days reading up on possible solutions & tried most of them - uninstalling the 310XT from GE & reinstalling, several hard resets, using a different web browser but when I try & download a course I repeatedly get the message "THERE WAS AN ERROR SYNCING WITH GARMIN CONNECT" - I'm on the verge of giving up! I'm due to do a 100 mile ultra marathon & was relying on having some back-up to my non-existant map reading skills.

I've been able to download the course to my Forerunner 405 so it must be something to do with the 310XT (bought very recently). All the setting on the watch & GC are upto date.

    Any suggestions gratefully received!

    Same here with Edge 810.
  • Everyone,

It would be best at this point to contact Product Support by phone for further assistance with this issue. It may be similar to an open case for sending workouts to devices but we need the additional information to confirm.

  • Is the issue with sending workouts still open or has there been a resolution? I posted in another thread and the instructions I received did not help. I ran a big race last weekend and have another this weekend and haven't been willing to do a master reset because of that. After Sunday I will be looking to get the issue resolved before starting my next training cycle.

I was hoping to contact Product Support as advised this weekend, but according to their web page, they are open in the UK Mon-Fri 8.30am - 5.30pm, which doesn't really help when most people are at work during this time, don't have their laptop or PC to hand whilst at work and do most of their long runs / races at the weekend!

If anyone who doesn't work normal office hours gets a satisfactory resolution, please share this knowledge!

    Thanks!
  • I have the same problem:
CANNOT SEND anything (courses, workouts) FROM GC TOWARDS 310xt, but I CAN DOWNLOAD activities FROM 310xt TOWARDS GC.

I live in South Africa and there is no product local support phone number, the local distributer only attends to hardware problems, so if anyone has been able to gets this working can they please share it on this forum?

    Thanks
  • Interesting, I would be interested in looking at your logs. Can you reproduce an error use the log collector to collect the logs and post them somewhere we can look at them?
Note, I am not Garmin so I might not be able to help you much but who knows... we might understand what's wrong and at least work around it.

Thanks for the offer of help....however, not being technically minded, please can you translate what you say above into simple English & I'll try & show what messages I'm getting although it's exactly the same error message as per the original message in this thread. The GPX file is showing in my GC, I have been able to down load it to my FR 405, but no luck with the 310XT.

    Many thanks.

So, the logs will give you more information than the message on the original post which doesn't say anything.
    Do the following...
    Download the log collector: http://download.garmin.com/omt/tools/GarminExpressLogCollector.exe
Start it but do not gather the logs yet
Start GE and reproduce the error you're seeing.
Now go to the log collector window that is open and gather logs. This will generate a zip file with logs.
Upload this zip file somewhere (dropbox for example), make it public and share the link here.

If you have trouble sharing the file send it to my email and I will make sure I will place it in a shareable place for everyone. For my email send me a PM. I will look at the logs and try to help.
