Garmin Express sync 'working' - but activities not uploading to Garmin Connect

I have a Garmin 410 which i've successfully used with Garmin Express for some time. My last activity upload was on Friday 13th March. Since then i've tried to upload two further activities and despite Garmin Express stating that the transfer was complete, when I login to Garmin Connect the activities are not there. Scouring Google for answers hasn't helped me either. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Garmin Express - to no avail.

Has anyone got any ideas of how I can get it to work? Or am I missing something obvious that I should be doing?

Thanks

    I have the same problem
The unit appears to be functioning normally with GE. It connects, syncs but no new activities show up in Garmin Connect

funny thing is I have an edge 705 which does sync with GE and activities show in GE but difference is that it uses a USB cable

I don't mind them doing upgrades but QA needs to be better. To me that is the whole purpose of GE to sync my activities to GC

Apparently its all our own fault for not following all the solutions that don't work that are posted on here....

It probably is our fault for buying a Garmin
  • Same problem with a 410.

I was posting in the wrong forum it seems.

Yep. It was a mistake to buy Garmin from the beginning. I'm not going to suggest garmin to anyone who I see considering buying, I just can't.

Unbelievable that some still think there is not problem in Garmins end. Very nice attitude to begin with.

It's software problem, but there's no real interest to solve it. We paid already. All this threads are going in circles and name of the game is playing time.

complete agree, but have given up trying to work with GE hope the ANT+ agent works it did for me, it does seem to be other devises so it may not just be the 310xt becoming EOL for softtware updates. ANT+ isn't as pretty and fluid as GE but it does work, which for me trumps the pretty flashy green lights. :-)
  • For those of you with the Forerunner 310XT:

There is a certain issue that sometimes occurs with the 310XT where it will send a corrupt garmindevice.xml to the computer. Previous versions of Garmin Express were able to recognize this and ignore the bad xml file. I have created a case for this because the new version of express is not handling this properly. The only way to stop the watch from sending this corrupt xml is to master reset the device.

If you have data on the watch that you need to recover first, you should be able to sync with ANT Agent before resetting it. Just make sure to quit Garmin Express by right-clicking the tray icon and choosing Quit prior to using ANT Agent and uninstall ANT Agent when you are finished. Both applications will try to take control of the ANT stick which will cause issues. You may also need to disconnect and reconnect the ANT Stick in between using each application.

  • This thread has got long and messy. So much so that it's now difficult to follow with numerous devices and issues being raised. Jason has given the solution for 310XT devices. If anyone has other queries please start a new thread.
