Garmin Express sync 'working' - but activities not uploading to Garmin Connect

I have a Garmin 410 which i've successfully used with Garmin Express for some time. My last activity upload was on Friday 13th March. Since then i've tried to upload two further activities and despite Garmin Express stating that the transfer was complete, when I login to Garmin Connect the activities are not there. Scouring Google for answers hasn't helped me either. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Garmin Express - to no avail.

Has anyone got any ideas of how I can get it to work? Or am I missing something obvious that I should be doing?

Thanks

The file may still be on the computer. If so, you can try to manually upload it. Please reference the following article:
Where do my activities go on the computer before they are uploaded to Garmin Connect?

You may have to do some uploading to figure out what one it is, but since it's not on the device any longer, this is the best bet.

Tried updating to the newer version of Garmin Express and that didn't resolve the issue.
Went back to the previous version, but that would not log-in to my Connect account. Now I'm back on 4.08.04 and am getting 2 failures.

    1) Express fails to open entirely

and 2) when it does open it still does not reach Connect
  • Same problem here. Syncing my last activity today but it did not show up in Garmin Connect.

But here is the funny thing: I have connected GC to Strava and MyFitnessPal and the activity show up in those programs.

Same issue for me. I'm trying to upload from a 610, the status bar gets halfway, then says Re-Authentication Required. I give it my Garmin login details, which it accepts - but then get the message "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect."

I've applied the new firmware released today, but this has not fixed the issue. Is there an update on getting this fixed, watch is useless for me without the online analysis

Exactly same problem since yesterday. Frustrating. Login/logout, install/uninstall, nothing helps. I wrote manually my data to Garmin Connect but hell no for that in future. Forerunner 610 here too.

Curt - what is the solution? I cleared all my data before my ride because I know this problem with my device. I have one activity and nothing will transfer. I can see it in history. I tried sending the data from the watch and that didn't work. My 310xt required a hard reset about once a month and I am so damn frustrated with it I hardly use it anymore. It also randomly uploads on its own but most of the time I have to initiate the sync. It's like a lemon and I'm not sure I would buy another Garmin.

    Hello
I have the same problem Garmin Express say my device (910XT) is sync but the last activity (today, 21th March) doesn't appear on Garmin Connect. I reinstall Garmin Express, uninstall, reinstall so many times, I started and restarted the watch, I tried to send all the activities from the watch as you said but NOTHING WORK. Sending all activities from the watch take each time between 15 and 20 minutes.
I buy an expensive watch for training and I trained hard every day: it is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE that I can't get my activity's data, by the file, by garmin express or whatever but I need those data.

Why are you still developing locked softwares (Garmin Express only permits a sync with Garmin Connect and nothing else, no possiblity to get file for example) that NEVER worked, never. Your hardware are working well but softwares by Garmin are definitely the worst softwares I ever seen.

Please I NEED a solution, and it is a little bit urgent.

    Thank you by advance

It worked this way manually. I had to rename the file (added .gpx to the end), those files (any of them) didn't have any extension. Just name made of numbers. Did we find the problem?
Watch sends data to computer without extensions so Garmin Express doesn't recognize them so it won't send them forward to Garmin Connect?

But there is that authentication error too. I don't know, I'm praying for solution here. :(

  • Similar problems. I have three activities on my 910XT from yesterday. In the midst of Garmin Connect web service issues yesterday I tried to upload the files and I got an error in the version 3 Express. I updated to version 4. No luck. Tried in IE with the Communicator Plug-in--no luck. Couldn't see activities newer than February. I uninstalled EVERYTHING Garmin and reinstalled this morning. Still won't sync. I have no way of accessing the files for these activities (they NEVER appeared in either the appdata or programdata hidden folder/file structure). I am on Win 7. Using Chrome (except when I needed to try communicator plugin). Have tried Transfer all. Have a race next week, thinking about not wearing my watch since I'd rather know I won't have data before I start.

I am about ready to give up on Garmin after having had serious hassle last week uploading from my Garmin Edge 500 (I had to use the Classic Garmin Connect manual upload as the 'Modern' didn't work). This is getting crazy, I would love to know what they hell Product Management at Garmin is thinking? I was thinking about getting a 920XT but I am rethinking this based on all these problems. Very disappointing. ((The lack of a manual file utility for the 910XT is a major pain. The fact that Express 4 doesn't have a SYNC button is flat out CRAZY)).

When can we expect Express to be at the point where the trusty Ant Agent was? I just spent more time trying to get my activity to upload than I did doing the actual activity!! It's like this EVERY TIME I try to upload a new activity. I'm fearful to check Garmin express these days because all I'm going to see is that it failed to sync the device or failed to upload. Seemingly, the only way I've been able to fix this is to delete and re-add the device to Express. Trying to add the device back to Express works less than 25% of the time. Most of the time all I see is the screen telling me it couldn't find any devices and I have to hit try again. Right now I just want Ant Agent back so I don't have to put up with this BS any longer.
