Nuvi 2599LMT not compatible with Garmin Express?

Hi,

Just got my wife a brand new 2599, and am trying to update with Express. The problem is, Express is telling me that the 2599 is not compatible with Express.

Anyone else seen this, a quick search yielded no similar results

    9 months later, and Garmin Express still doesn't recognize the unit to do updates. appears others are having the same problem, but i don't see any solutions??


    I suspect it was closed as you hadn't provided the file asked for by Customer Support, so they assumed you'd resolved your issue.
  • SUSSAMB I just tried to help w0lfr0y by email but wasn't able to, i merged the two threads so some one from the GE support team will pick up from here.

    i uploaded his Device.xml as on request of the GE support team.
  • There is an issue with that file, so the Express team will possibly need to help.

    However, W0lfr0y, try deleting the file from the Garmin folder on your device. Then disconnect from your PC and switch your nuvi back on, that will recreate the file. Are you now able to use Express?
  • Yeah, i asked him to do the same. Delete file and let the nuvi recreate the device.xml....

    There is an issue with that file, so the Express team will possibly need to help.

    ok, deleted the file and disconnected, appears file was still there. deleted the file a second time and disconnected / then checked, file is there again. interesting side note, when it gets "recreated" it's not putting the correct date stamp on the file (i.e. todays date) so i can't tell if the deletion is actually working.

    either way, GE still doesn't work after this test.

    p.s. the upload file function appears broken as well - there is no way for me to attach the "new" xml file - it says upload failed every time. had the same problem when trying to upload screen shots earlier.

  • This file also is't readable for GE, u need some more help and im afraid we can't help u here.

    I uploaded the new file here and removed the old one.

  • No problem, I'll check this thread Monday to see if the GE team have contacted u.
  • The Express team should pop in soon. They should be able to help.
