Garmin Express unable to connect with servers

Hi,
I've tried all possible solutions I could find to resolve the issue, but couldn't resolve it.

Bought Edge 810, downloaded and updated the Garmin Express to v 3.2.25.0, running W7 Ultimate 64bit SP1.
After Express launches and pressing the "Get Started" button, it detects the device but won't go any further this error:
There was a problem communicating with the Garmin servers. Please try again later. [Ignore]
I've got 100MBps connection, turned the firewalls down, double checked the Garmin service up and running, did a couple of reboots but the error is here to stay.
Any ideas how to fix this issue?

Thanks
  • Same story here
Garmin connect works fine, garmin express sees my watch which goes in trasferring data mode
but a message says I have to log in before the sych works

I tried multiple time to log in, but I always get the message that the servers are down.
We are sorry, there is a problem with our servers, which means that Express is temporarily unavailable.
We are working as fast as we can ...

Well, it has been 2 days now and still not working.
  • Check that your country and timezone are correct on your computer's setup. Sometimes that causes similar issues. Don't confuse this with any settings on Garmin Connect. I'm talking about your PC or Macbook settings.

I have exactly the same problem, have made sure all the timezones and country are ok, but still just get the same message each time about the servers. Can use G Connect, but not express...

I am sorry that you are having trouble with Garmin Express. First, please update to the latest version of Garmin Express (3.2.25.0) by following the instructions here:
How do I update Garmin Express?

If you are still having trouble, remove your device from Express, restart your computer, and then pair it to Garmin Express again. To remove the device from express, follow the instructions in the FAQ below:
How do I delete a fitness device from Garmin Express?

    Hi Curt,

When I perform the steps to update the App runs the check then says I have the latest update / version available though its (3.2.21.0) and not the (3.2.25.0) you mention. Should I removal and install again?

Regarding the second point, I haven't been able to register the device as that's when the app says there was a problem with the servers.

You should definitely be able to download 3.2.25 from inside the application. Please use the instructions to have Express send me some logs files. Try to update Express and try to add your Forerunner 920XT then enter in the code.

    1. Open Garmin Express
    2. Click the Gear icon at the top right corner of the screen to open settings
    3. Click Send logs to Garmin
    4. Enter the code: 9SKFN
    5. Click Submit

The code is only good one time.

    Thank you

    Hi Curt,

Just tried, however once you press 'submit' it thinks then come up with the same message "There was a problem communicating with the Garmin servers. Please try again later."

  • That means that there is something outside Express blocking its ability to communicate with Garmin Servers. Check your Firewall, Internet Security Settings etc.. If you continue to have troubles tomorrow I suggest you contact Garmin Australia.

worked like a charm! set the proper timezone and set "synchronize with an Internet time server" on, updated the time an it works!
    thanks!
