Garmin Express unable to connect with servers

Hi,
I've tried all possible solutions I could find to resolve the issue, but couldn't resolve it.

Bought Edge 810, downloaded and updated the Garmin Express to v 3.2.25.0, running W7 Ultimate 64bit SP1.
After Express launches and pressing the "Get Started" button, it detects the device but won't go any further this error:
There was a problem communicating with the Garmin servers. Please try again later. [Ignore]
I've got 100MBps connection, turned the firewalls down, double checked the Garmin service up and running, did a couple of reboots but the error is here to stay.
Any ideas how to fix this issue?

Thanks

OK, to help others I will reply here.
Got a 2nd hand Garmin Edge 500 and could not get it to work either. Spent hours and hours and finally solved it. Skip the complete Garmin FAQ with things like proxy, resinstall, etc. Also no difference in Windows & MacOS. The former owner deleted the Edge in his Garmin so that was no the issue either. I could login in Garmin website online with no problem so my account was correct. Furthermore when connecting with USB cable Garmin Express software could see my Edge (with green dot next to it). But when trying to login I got something like could not connect to server or trying to reach server without succes (the Dutch version so I have no clue what the English version is).
Without further ado my winning combination. On a forum I read something about setting your laptop in the correct country/timezone but this was already correct in my case. But it triggered me. What if the Garmin device in one way or another did not have the correct time/date? Here is what I did:
    1. Hard reset (in my case 3 out of buttons, check garmin website)
    2. let the thing find sattelites
BAM! synced after long time and worked in Garmin Express again.
I dont know if 1 is needed so you skip that probably.
What happened? The former owner had not used it for a long time so the Edge lost all (predictive) GPS positioning info. With all my fiddling today (and earlier) I never gave it the change to find sattelites again. In my scenario it has to find them from scratch so it took about half an hour. I bet a lot of people with this issue have the same.
