Unexpected error!!!!

I've just bought my first Garmin and am unable to log my run due to a message that keeps coming up everytime I try to launch Express. I am told its an unexpected error. I am pretty annoyed that having bought the watch the software to support it won't work :mad: Not cool. Is there anyway to make it work. I am on a Windows 7, no access to other devices.

    I just edited my previous post. Can you please check to see which version the dlls are?

    I understand you need some time to work things out. But i bought a device that promissed me regular maps updates and at this point it is for me not possible to get what i paid for. Maybe there is a shortcut we can use until there is a permanent solution.

    Whatever it is a regular update would be apreciated even if you have nothing to tell. At lease we will know that we are not forgotten.
  • While this seems to be a computer problem and not a Garmin Express problem, we are trying to see if we can update the application to work around this issue. We currently have no workaround aside from using a different computer unless one of you would like to reinstall Windows to see if that will correct the problem. We will have no real update regarding this issue until we come out with a new version of Garmin Express.

    Thanks Lisa for the update. Really appreciated.

    The only Software on my computer, a 1/2 year old Lenovo with only official software, that is giving me an error is Garmin Express. Tell me if i am wrong but Garmin made this software, Garmin made the installer, even if i wanted it would not be possible for me to change the software or the installer, i can not alter the behaviour of the software, this software is needed to update the garmin device. I paid for software that should be working.

    Maybe Garmin can explain to me what the issue is so that i can call Microsoft and tell them about a flow in there operating system that is preventing Garmin Express to work on our computer. Maybe in the next windows update they can change it.

    I hope the Garmen employees understand this is not personal but i really get agitated when i hear that a product not working is my problem and the really sad thing is that this is not only for Garmin but for everything that works on or with software operated hardware.

    I really hope that this update will be soon.
  • What is really surprising saying that it is a computer problem and not a GE problem is that GE used to work on my PC and it doesn't anymore. It is the same PC and all other applications I am using are still working correctly !
