I just purchased the Nuvi 3490 with lifetime Middle East and north Africa Maps. It also includes Europe. I registered my device and the lifetime update card on the garmin site and it does show in the details there. After installing the garmin express my Europe maps updated to 2015.10 but my primary lifetime update map of middle east is showing error. There was a problem activating the map. I have written to garmin twice but they have not replied. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
thank you very much for your swift response but it still hasnt worked. i deleted my Garmin from Garmin Express, copied the XML file you attached and pasted it in the garmin folder after deleting the old XML file. then re-added my Garmin into Garmin express. what happened is that i dont see the Middle east update anymore, i only see an update for Europes' maps (Western Europe 2015.30) which is already installed on my device. however, when i go to my dashboard, under my maps it shows me that middle east maps 2015 is already installed on my device, which is not the case because when i went into my Device and checked the installed maps i could only see the 2013 version.
can you please check the XML file again, appreciate your kind help and support.
I have tested this issue once again and the map update is being offered to my Test device here using your device information. If you delete the device from Express and re add it back and nothing changes you will need to contact support at:

Hi, I have a Nuvi 205W which has been fine for many years. But today when trying to upload maps I get exactly the same error message that EIDALSULAITI mentioned (just the first one; not the second one about product key). I can't get any further with searching online here.
Thanks for the replies. I have resolved it and these are the steps I took. Not the simplest but the solution worked. I also found GarminExpress did not seem to be behaving correctly (e.g. prompts in MyGarmin to install GarminExpress even though it was already there). I did that but then it would not start automatically when I connected the nuvi to the PC. So I decided to uninstall and reinstall GarminExpress. And then GE did not work at all, so I looked at other threads and that gave me some hints to what I found. I had Windows Update turned to automatically install updates, so turned that off first. Then uninstalled two drivers that had been automatically installed today (which had run AFTER I had started my GarminExpress). Next I rebooted my PC (always a good idea after changing drivers). Now GarminExpress would start again without any problems. I reconnected the nuvi and the installation worked. OK that is the storybook version. So the fix was really: 1) Turn off Windows Update automatic updates. 2) Uninstall any recently installed drivers and reboot 3) Uninstall GE 4) Install a fresh download of GE 5) Update maps
