I just purchased the Nuvi 3490 with lifetime Middle East and north Africa Maps. It also includes Europe. I registered my device and the lifetime update card on the garmin site and it does show in the details there. After installing the garmin express my Europe maps updated to 2015.10 but my primary lifetime update map of middle east is showing error. There was a problem activating the map. I have written to garmin twice but they have not replied. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
I have an updated 2597 with a lifetime map package, and I also receive the same error after deleting my device and rebooting my laptop, then re-adding it. Can you tell me if Qatar has been updated at all? The map is not that accurate for Qatar. Can I just download the map and drag it into external storage?
craniac I have resolved this issue on your account. Please remove from Garmin Express and add back to get your update started. Looking into the updates to Qatar we do not have access to the change log but I am looking into this. "Can I just download the map and drag it into external storage?" Is this is a MicroSd card on the GPS?
I ve a Garmin Nuvi 2497 which is a great device. I am trying to update the map Middle East and Africa 2015.10 but it gives me an error that it could not not update.
I tried most of the steps in the forum but they hardly helped. Please help guys as this device is very important for me while I travel coz I travel a lot and I like driving... ;)
Always get an error while updating maps to Middle East & North Africa 2015.10. Already tried deleting re-adding device, Updating software to latest version,Updating & Re installing Garmin Express, but all of these attempts failed. So Guys, Please help me here.

Your issue is now resolved. Please remove your device from Garmin Express, restart the computer then add it to Express. Install the City Navigator Middle East & Northern Africa NT 2015.10 map update. I am sorry for the troubles, let me know if you have any questions.
Hi there, We have nuvi 3590 device. Problem: The Middle East and North Africa 2014.30 map is not updating. This is the free update we are entitled to by the company. Error: Express cannot determine where the specified file should be written Previously suggested solution: In this thread you have suggested a solution to this problem by removing the device from Express and then deleting the xml file before restart and again adding the device. This didn't help. Additional Information: I have around 1.6 GB space left in the internal memory. Also, there is an 8 GB card in the card slot. The update didn't go through with or without the card. Please suggest an alternate solution to this problem. The xml file is attached with this post for your reference.
