Problem with Middle East and Europe map

I just purchased the Nuvi 3490 with lifetime Middle East and north Africa Maps. It also includes Europe. I registered my device and the lifetime update card on the garmin site and it does show in the details there. After installing the garmin express my Europe maps updated to 2015.10 but my primary lifetime update map of middle east is showing error. There was a problem activating the map. I have written to garmin twice but they have not replied. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

    Hi Trish,
    Garmin Express showed Europe maps available for update, so I installed it hoping it would fix all the mapping issues. But unfortunately the Middle Eastern maps did not update. I purchased the Middle East life time update and thats the one I'd like to install on my Garmin Nuvi 3590

    Good Day,

    I brought Garmin Nuvi 2595 on 2013, and subscribed Lift-time update for Middle East & Northern Africa. I connected the Garmin device to my laptop to update the latest map (Middle east & Northern Africa 2015.10) using Garmin Express but with error message "There was a problem activating the map....". please help.

    Device: Nuvi 2595
    Garmin Express Version: 3.2.19.0

    Your issue is now resolved. Please remove your device from Garmin Express, restart the computer then add it to Express. Install the City Navigator Middle East & Northern Africa NT 2015.10 map update. I am sorry for the troubles, we are working on getting the issue resolved for all.

    You have sorted me out. The update is complete. I have some information that may be of use to you. I did not have to restart my computer, remove and reinstall the device or take any additional steps. All I did was plug in the GPS and it updated. This proves there was no issue with the software on my PC, in the satnav and no state condition causing a problem at my end. The issue was 100% in the Garmin database. I suspect that if you resolve that with a well written script, nobody will require any assistance at all.

    If you can, I would advise your support staff to avoid cookie cutter responses. They are an insult to the intelligence of your customers. Do Garmin like to think that only stupid people buy their products? It's a little offensive to Garmin too.

    Thank You GARMIN, the issue is resolved and the update (Middle east & Northern Africa 2015.10) is done last night.

    I have bought a Garmin Nuvi 2497 with lifetime update for MENA region, but still can't update the maps because of activation error. The problem is not solved even after deleting the device from Garmin Express and adding it back.

    I have found the problem that was causing your failed to activate issue. I have corrected this in our system. I tested the map update with your device and it is working. Please delete the the device out of Express and re-add it. Once the device is re-added try the update process again and the map update should go through.
