I just purchased the Nuvi 3490 with lifetime Middle East and north Africa Maps. It also includes Europe. I registered my device and the lifetime update card on the garmin site and it does show in the details there. After installing the garmin express my Europe maps updated to 2015.10 but my primary lifetime update map of middle east is showing error. There was a problem activating the map. I have written to garmin twice but they have not replied. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
I was able to duplicate the error here so I have created a case for this to be researched further. What about your other device? Is that one updating now if you remove it from Express and try it again?

Every time I try to update my Nuvi 2497 it says that there is a problem with the activation. I removed the device from Garmin Express and put it back again but still I have an error. Could you please check the status of my device
I have looked into your device and made some changes in the database. I tested the update and the new 2015.20 maps have been unlocked to your device. Please delete the device and re add it to Express. The map update should complete now.
So here is the issue: we've got a nuvi 2925 with lifetime updates for Middle East. When we connect the device to the computer, it shows there is a map update available 2015.20. But, it does not install. I tried to install only on device, on device and computer, only on computer. Nothing works. I updated the Garmin Express Software, removed the device and added back. It did not work. Serial number is: 2EV015436. Please help!
I reviewed the data for your device on our database and found a discrepancy which has now been corrected. The map update should proceed without error now. The device needs to be deleted from Garmin Express and added back before attempting the update again.
please note that i am trying to update the middle east and northen affrica version 2015.20 and i revieve an error mentioning " there was a problem activating the map" please check and advise as soon as possible

I had to correct a discrepancy in the database but the test I just ran was successful. Delete the device from Garmin Express and add it back, the update should proceed with no errors.
I'm having a similar problem. I recently purchased a nuvi 42LM (serial number 2W3820450) with North America Maps on it. I also bought the lifetime North Africa and Middle East Maps option. When I logged into https://my.garmin.com/ and went to my maps tab it shows me that I recently purchased the lifetime middle east and north africa map. When I click on add to device drop down box and select my GPS (nuvi 42LM) I get a message telling me my maps are currently up to date.
I've got Garmin Express already installed on PC. When I open it there's no option to install middle east maps.
What do I do?
