Garmin Express - Device not found.

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
Garmin Forerunner 205.

Downloaded and installed Express.
Click 'Get Started'. Messages displays; Device not supported. Garmin Express does not support this device. Please use Garmin Map Updater. With a button to download and install the map updater.
This does not work, message displays saying the 205 does not support maps.
Cancel back to Garmin Express - Device not found screen displays with try again button. Then you can just go round and round in circles......
  • OK, the 205 seems to be compatible with Garmin Express but what's up with The FR305? I can upload my trainings after switching to the classic version of Garmin Connect. Garmin Exress recognizes the device but tells me that the FR 305 is not compatible with Express...



    When do you think will the FR305 be compatible? You might see it on the screenshot I also own a FR620 but... haha... Garmin, you can't be serious with that watch *lol* I went back to the FR305 because I need a rock solid and accurate GPS watch...

  • OK, the device was faulty obviously, it has been exchanged by Garmin Germany. Thanks for your advice !

    got the device back from Garmin today - Garmin has checked the device and did not find an error. There was a letter inside the box in which is written that the Forerunner 305 is NOT SUPPORTED by Garmin Express ! On the phone the German support said that there IS support for the 305, that's what you write here either. What's right now? I'm confused...

    The Forerunner 305 is supported by Garmin Express. What could have happened is that the unit that was received from the exchange process might have a different part number then other Forerunner 305 devices. If this is the case we will need to have a case created in our system. I have sent you a private message to gather further information.

    We created case 1083924 on this issue. The device should be setup correctly now on our end. Have you tried to add it to Express since 9/5?

    How about the Forerunner 201? I can still use the old Connect site to upload, so I know my 201 is working. Hope you don't take that away for a while!

    Since the Forerunner 201 is a serial device, it is not compatible with Garmin Express. You will need to continue using Classic Connect or Garmin Training Center to retrieve your activities from your Forerunner 201.

    I have a 610 which has always connected fine with Ant Agent. Now that I have to use Garmin Express to send workouts to my device, it will not connect in the Garmin Express app. I have tried both using Ant Stick and the USB cord. Neither connect my device. I have tried all of the things that I could find but nothing is working. Please help. Thanks.
