Garmin 310xt issues

I have a Garmin 310XT. For 2-3 weeks I have been unable to download activities to Garmin Connect. I haven't heard anything from Garmin, but I infer from other statements that changing to Garmin Express may be a good idea. I therefore tried to install this. Eventually the new software starts looking for devices and finds my 310XT. It then does ask me to log in, but says something about servers not working and Express being temporarily unavailable. I can't see anything about this on Garmin's website.

Is this a problem for just me, or is it a wider problem?

    I have a Garmin 610 and am trying to upload a run from yesterday to Connect via Express.

    I did two runs this weekend, the older of the two uploaded last night and then I got the dreaded, "Cannot connect with Garmin Servers".

    The firmware is 2.9 and up to date.

    Also, I had to switch from using a laptop with Windows 8.1 to one running Windows 7. Express just doesn't want to work on W8.1 for me.

    Can someone help with the server issue please?
  • It is also important to note that via Android application Garmin Connect you are able to log in. So I think there must be some bug in Connect SW for PC...

    I am facing same issue says that server down when I try to pair my vivofit with garmin express. if is device problem, impossible my whole family 3 vivofit also cant sync or pair. and futhuermore not only my laptop (windows 8) indicate "server down, please try again later", even my brothers pc (windows 7), my Samsung note 3 also cant pair n sync. my Samsung note 3 indicate error. I really hope this issue can solve by tomorrow because the 2 extra new vivofit I bought is for my dad & mum's birthday present. without pairing it to activate the device, I am not able to give them. as I will be leaving hometown in 2 days time.

    Garmin connect should only allow one VivoFit per account and it looks like you might have added more than one at some point to your account.
    Could you please "Retire" your unit in Garmin connect and then add it back in Express to see if this resolve your issue. When you add it in Garmin Express it will add your information and the device back to your account.


    To retire the VivoFit in Garmin connect:

    1. Log into your Garmin connect account
    2. Click on Menu bar (three lines)
    3. Go to Devices and click on VivoFit
    4. Click on the gear to the right of the device and click Retire

    Once this has been done please pair it back on Garmin Express and please let us know how that goes.

    Your help with VivoFit is really nice but do you have any solution for other users with "server" problems? Does Garmin solve it? Or shall we report this problem by some official way? It's really annoying...
  • Garmin Express syncing data with Garmin Connect is focused on the fitness devices at this time. Full support for other outdoor devices like the eTrex 30 will be implemented later. There is really no reason to use Garmin Express with the eTrex 30 at this time. I suggest you continue using Garmin BaseCamp with the eTrex.

  • Garmin 310xt issues

    Having issues trying to add my Garmin 310xt as a device to Garmin express. Every time I try it is telling me your servers are down and is unable to do so. This has been going on for about 2 months. What is the issue? Not happy at all with the new Garmin Connect layout, there is always an issue.
