Garmin 310xt issues

I have a Garmin 310XT. For 2-3 weeks I have been unable to download activities to Garmin Connect. I haven't heard anything from Garmin, but I infer from other statements that changing to Garmin Express may be a good idea. I therefore tried to install this. Eventually the new software starts looking for devices and finds my 310XT. It then does ask me to log in, but says something about servers not working and Express being temporarily unavailable. I can't see anything about this on Garmin's website.

Is this a problem for just me, or is it a wider problem?

ant agent wasn't working so, was trying to get express to work... upload my data.
I managed now with express after a reset... ant still not working but, it don't matter. As long as one works I'm happy
    Thanks anyway

When you have Express installed and Ant agent installed only one program can use the Ant service at a time. Now that Express is up and running I would recommend uninstalling Ant agent.

I spoke to the helpdesk and they advised me it was probably as my laptop has symantec security software which is not allowing the autorun to run when I connect my device to the laptop. He advised me to continue using the connect via the classic view.

I doubt it's anything to do with my security software and just that Express sucks, as does the modern view IMHO.
  • In some cases where the device has connected to Express and is failing you can see the how the GarminDevice.xml file is reporting the firmware version. If the unit managed to be added to Express you can open Express and click on the "Device" option at the top of Express and under "Info" it will display what firmware the device is reporting.

Nope, the Device tab isn't shown without being logged in, even when the device was found. Ant+ worked for me today (it didn't the previous 2 days).
Resetting the device is not really an option ... also "Leave the device outside with a clear view of the sky for a minimum of 15 minutes to acquire satellite data." how convenient.

Can't we fix the xml manually ??
  • Hello,
I've bought Garmin Etrex 30 and I've successfuly paired my device with Garmin Express. When I try to log in to my account I get the same message as the question of this thread was. We are having problems with our servers - please try it again later. Anyone could help how to solve this problem?
    Thank you!

So untill a few days ago my Edge 810 worked fine. Now i cant upload anything. I uninstalled express and the reinstalled and when i try to sync the unit to my account i get the following..."Theres a problem with our servers which means express is temporarily unavailable. Working to fix it Blah Blah..." Anyone else got this?
  • Is there any solution? My 310XT was working with Garmin Express last week and then it stopped, it gives the same error that it can't sync to the servers. I've re-paired it etc and am running Garmin Express 3.1.8.0

I don't want to hard reset as I have around 11 work outs I'd like to upload, is there any solution?

Thanks for the other responses. Like Nackie99 I have workouts I don't want to lose. Garmin can you help, or explain what this new problem is and when it is going to be resolved?
