7.27 and Vivosmart 4

7.27 broke the ability to sync Vivosmart 4 via USB to Express on W10.
I have 2 family members that do not use cell phones, so no Connect mobile app, they use GE.
The other family member uses Connect mobile which syncs as usual.

GE shows it is syncing, BUT if you go into Connect web, nothing has synced that is on the device.
This has been since they updated to 7.27, 8-10 days ago. Also you can't see the VS4 folders, but it charges.
I backleveled to 7.26 and everything works. Folders upen and devices actually sync.

  • It would appear that v7.27.1 released yesterday has addressed this little problem. Can you also confirm your end?

  • Checked this morning with Vivosmart 4 and Vivosmart 5 - v7.27.1. It appears that this release fixed the problem. I have a drawer full of earlier Garmin devices right back to the first Vivosmart (no HR) that I'm not going to bother trying it out with, but I still use my Nuvi 58 so the next job is check it out.

  • Thanks so much for letting us know about the update. Garmin Express is once again recognizing that my device is a Vivosmart (and not an ARYA) which means Garmin Express is now communicating with and uploading data to Garmin Connect.  Today is the first time I've been able to see my data since September 17, 2025. Was glad to see 2 months of data was not lost - everything uploaded from Sept 18 through to today.

  • I see yours Vivosmart and Nuvi 58, and raise you mine Edge 705 and nuvicam - both working flawlessly with GE (and on their own also) ;-)
