Try using the Internet Connections troubleshooter.
Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Select "Troubleshoot" (left edge of screen) > Select "Additional troubleshooters" > Run the "Internet Connections…

Hi John. It's a desktop windows 10 I think. Trying to connect GPS Garmin 66. Its Never happend with anything else. Just constantly with the Garmin device.

So the question is does the Wi-Fi stop on your PC, or does it just make the nuvi 66 unresponsive to Wi-Fi?
Thank you I will look at the video. When I connect the device to my computer it disconnects the WiFi on my pc.
I watched the video. I have tried several times to update wirelessly with my device not connected at my computer (but connected to a power source).. After an hour or so of updates doing their thing, the device says they were unsuccessful and to use Garmin Express. And I am back to connecting it to my PC and it disabling the WiFi on the PC. I'm stuck in an unsuccessful loop!
Try using the Internet Connections troubleshooter.
Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Select "Troubleshoot" (left edge of screen) > Select "Additional troubleshooters" > Run the "Internet Connections" troubleshooter (usually at the top of the screen.
When the troubleshooter is finished running, it's a good idea to restart your device.
Great idea, I have done it several times over the last year trying to get to the bottom of the strange issue. It doesn't stop my Garmin device disabling the pc WiFi.
Since this is a desktop PC, is there any good reason why you cannot try a physical Ethernet cable to connect the PC to the internet?
I agree with using an ethernet cable instead of wi-fi if possible. If not, try connecting the Garmin to a different USB port. If the wi-fi relies on a USB wi-fi adapter and you only have two USB ports, swap which ports the two devices are plugged into. If there are more than two ports, test different combinations of ports.
It will be interesting to hear the response from the OP but there conceivably may be a physical limitation that prevents the use of an Ethernet cable. I for instance have a friend that relocated his "home office" to a larger room during the pandemic and I helped set up WiFi (Verizon) as opposed to him doing costly modification to his former wiring.
