Activities not synching with Garmin Express after 7.20.0.0 & 7.20.3.0 updates

When I opened Garmin Express last night to upload my latest activity I was prompted to update to version 7.20.0.0. I did so and now I'm getting a permanent error:

"There was an error synching with Garmin Connect"

....and my activity obviously didn't upload to Garmin Connect.

Everything was ok the previous day before the update so what has occurred? 

  • Version 7.20.0.0 is installed.  When I check for updates, it says none are available.  This is on a Mac running OS 14.4.

  • Ah, this subsection is for the Windows version. But I can see that the Mac version has problems too like you describe (according to other users). Check out the (currently) latest 2 threads here: forums.garmin.com/.../garmin-express

  • tndean72 - a few pages back Darren posted a link to a web page where you can find a list of old versions, a few of us have downloaded various versions from there without issues, with the download site that is. If you can remember the version you had immediately prior to 7 20.0.0 then download and install that one, otherwise just go back one version at a time from 7.20.0.0 and see what works. When you have a version installed that works you should then be prompted by Garmin Express to update to 7.20.1.0 which will then work.

  • Looks like it's happened again! I was prompted to update to version 7.20.3.0 a few minutes ago and now my watch won't synch with Garmin Express..........again!!! Do they not test these updates first??? I'm getting a little fed up having to uninstall the newly updated version (you can't install an older version over a newer version) and then re-pair all of my Garmin devices once I've installed a working version!
